I agree Turro... maybe this thread will stay active and we can post up our success (hopefully not failures) on here and see how we would have faired as a team again.
I have 4 cams out. 1 nice 10 in the same spot as usual. He has been there the past 4 years now. he is a ghost. He was the monster 13 point 2 seasons ago and a big 11 last year. Now down to a big 10 similar to what he was when he was when I first started getting pics of him. He is at least 7.5, but could be older. He is completely nocturnal and always disappears about 2 weeks before season. Unfortunately, due to the land and permission, I cannot make a move on him any where, so I just need to hope lady luck brings him by me sometime.
Otherwise, nothing too exciting on cams yet. I have only had minerals out at this point. I just put bb2 blocks out this past weekend. Maybe that will start some more activity... other than bears.

If you all scroll down to the bottom of the HOME page you will see what is called "The VAULT" and we can continue on that thread. It will keep the title of 2018 Deer Contest and we will just post on from there as we were still a team.

I just checked in to my new team for the '19 contest. Looks to be a good group. Strange though... like being divorced and back in the social scene again.. .hahahaha.

I’m on team 12. Looks to be a good bunch too. Hoping to be a fun season. Not seeing big deer so hopes aren’t huge, which isn’t a bad thing, less chance of letdown. Had a couple cooler temps and feels like fall more now. Getting real quick

some good bucks on cam. the big 11 from last year is back and the big 8 my daughter missed last year is back and bigger than ever. He's also hanging with a nice 10 point. Hopefully she gets redemption early on the youth hunt on the 28th.
    All still very nocturnal.

Checked cams for next week. Not looking like a high potential start. Nothing big last check and didn’t improve since. And the little 8 didn’t seem to show anymore but maybe a tiny 8/6 now. Won’t be holding out. Last year I was done second sit, curious how this one will go. Got new arrows I’m itching to see in action as well

    anyone out yet?
No luck here on the youth hunt. I've been to CT a couple of times. I've seen a few deer, but no shots presented yet.
NY opens tomorrow. MA not for 3 more weeks.
Been crazy with work and kids schedules. Mom has been in and out of hospital as well. We'll see how much time I actually get. Tons of stuff on the schedule for weekends for the next month or so as well. Oh will. such is life.
I will be in OH from 11/9-11/15... fingers crossed.

I got out once. Had some issues still going on but finally maybe resolving along with stuff coming up or few fun things scattered in. And too much interference and attention in the woods near me kept everything spooked so been quiet besides couple night pics so nothing worth pushing sits anyway. And getting rain steady when sits coulda worked. Hopefully one of these days get out again. Had a doe taunting me when I was out but held back hoping to get a shot at the small 8 that’s been around. Nothing impressive been through. Switched up to some heavy arrows and new broadheads so real curious what kinda damage they do

I've hunted the last three days. Shot a 8 pt Monday morning. My arrow hit a twig and hit him low. No blood on the arrow. Got down two hours later and found bright red blood about 40 yards away. Trailed him for 150 yards and noticed blood was clotting near the end. Went for help. We looked for three hours and never found another drop of blood.

Sorry to hear that rb. Hopefully he shows back up if just wounded and let’s you finish him. Or maybe see birds or something and find for some closure to it. I go nuts not knowing. Only good thing about me not getting out besides once yet is not having to have things happen this year yet like that
