Saw 5 this morning, all out of range. Coyote hunting this afternoon. Saw a nice wide 10 point while driving out to setup.

    Keep at it guys!

Anyone have a pedestal mount? I am thinking of doing one with the buck I shot in December. Would love to see some pics.

    Thanks

tWELL CRAP! MY SEASON CAME TO A CLOSE THIS PAST WEEKEND. I was out and saw not a damn thing. I hunted in the woods on Sat and heard/saw nothing at all. Monday I went out to get my blind out of the field and the farmer had been by to till the field. I found my blind upside down with about 3" of ice on the inside of the roof. good thing i didn't go out to the blind on Sat. That really sucked. Had to use my boot to break up the ice. The back pack for the blind was froze in solid; had to leave that out there on the fence line. & SORRY BOYS, worst bow hunting season I've had in a very long time. Usually at least see something. I've got 6 different bucks on video on Oct. 28 & 29th like crazy, all day. Peak rut then. dwindled down as time went. Had fresh rubs, tracks, deer crap but thinking all nocturnal.
Well Rick & RB gonna be up to you guys to get it done. Good luck. Keep at it.

My season might be over pending on how fast they do promotions at work! I have passed my Lieutenant test and they are posting 13 spots. I am a shoe in since I am the most senior that is putting in for the position. Looks like I will be a LT soon.

    Congrats Dawg! Good stuff...
Sorry to hear In Da Woods... but it happens. I bet next season you will make up for it! Sucks about the blind. I put a new NAP Mantis 3 hub up behind my house this year with hopes the girls would be able to hunt out of it... 1st snowstorm collapsed it and broke a wall rod. I just pulled it out over the weekend. We had made a makeshift ground blind behind a blow down and used the fallen blind as part of it.
I need to reach out to them now to get a replacement rod.

Congrats to you guys that had a successful season! I'm sorry I haven't been able to contribute. My archery season was miserable here in PA weather wise, it poured about every day I had off, and mostly high winds during the rut.

I was able to shoot a buck in rifle season, and today (Saturday) is the last day for Late Archery, I've been working crazy amounts but I may be able to get out tomorrow evening for one last hoorah and get us 50 pts with a doe.

    I'll keep ya posted

Decided to do a pedestal mount with my buck from a couple of weeks ago, however it’s going to be a regular shoulder mount attached to a fence post on the habitat in case I ever need to put it on the wall.

That should look awesome. I’ve really gotten to love the ones with habitat added in or whatever with the mounts. Still really wish I had higher ceilings or more space at my house to do something like that. Anything more than euros with out layouts and 8’ highest ceilings just doesn’t work right

Yeah. I already have 4 shoulder mounts, moose rack, bear rug, 8+ euros, and some antler plaques

That’s an awesome collection. Moose is by far top on my list to get after. If I get one it’ll justify an expansion on the house to accommodate it, and best part the wife is all for it. I’ve got my bear and handful of euros. Still waiting on small bear rug from 2012... almost glad I’m not out killing tons of beasts or be tough to find good places for them all

That’s a sweet moose and love the setup. That’s one idea I’ve had is to raise to a vaulted ceiling in our living room/dining area. Still have to get a buddy/contractor over to see about the logistics for how it could go. I’m good on tackling most projects but for a roof change and structure like that want to make sure it’s something I do right. I did do it open like that in the little log cabin I did, which would more than likely get euro mounts and work out. Just haven’t gotten to spend enough time out there and some finishing to do before I get it all set up there

In the stand with my good luck hat, hope to put some points up. Seems like I was in the same position last year. January 15 before I killed one.[IMG][IMG]
