well I'm bummed. can't get Monday off. that leaves me just tues/wed to bow hunt by me. and 2 days up north (buck only) to hunt. I might try to take Sat off for an off chance of comp time. but it will be damn cold out there with only a hi of 34 degrees and maybe snow on the ground??

I didn’t get one tonight with my bow. But my buddy who is a local cop calls me with an occasional road kill if it’s “big”. Called me tonight. What a shame. IMG_4608.JPG IMG_4609.JPG IMG_4610.JPG

That’s a great buck and a horrible way for it to go. Hope there’s some good meat from him and at least rack didn’t get destroyed

I tell him only to call me with nice ones. I don’t bother with the little ones. But big 200lbers are worth my time for some extra meat

Way worth it on that size. Some work out for a nice chunk. Just glad to see when they get used and not just left to be cleaned up. The button buck I picked up last year I got 35# good meat off. Worked out perfect as we were wanting to try a different processor and not enough trim for all options. Tough to beat free venison

I’m gonna have my bud do a euro mount. Too beautiful of a deer to not show it. That buck is a wall hanger for this area. I feel bad for the guy who was probably excited to have a buck like that in his camera.

I’m always all in favor of euros. It’s definitely a big buck, too nice not to do something with for sure. I’m looking forward to getting my road buck hopefully before new year. Velvets gonna be redone artificial so curious to see how well he can redo it.
Know what you mean about someone watching on cam. The one I got too was a nice one and very close, like within few hundred feet of hunting land to a coworker of my wife. He was not happy losing a buck like that around

Western I’ll post pics as soon as I get it. Definitely will be interesting to see how it comes. He hasn’t done many so it’s kind of testing how well he can do too, but he does very good work and said he can clean it off and redo til satisfied. I’ve seen a lot of good about it. Can always get it done and worked on later too.

You can see the scuffed up snow where he took off and the dark dirt spot above that is my arrow impact! :(

Shake it off Dawg and next one will hit. Always sucks but a clean miss hurts pride but better than an injured. Consider it an extra practice shot

Good luck wake. That’s a nice one your buddy shot. I got in a bit early this afternoon since the day was slow. Nothing yet. Been a decent 8 and good bear here. Either one get it tonight.
