Boys doe down. But we can't count it. It was a doe, it was with archery. But it was my 8 year old daughter. She took her very first deer. She put a drain plug in this doe. Didn't go 20 yards. She had a smile from ear to ear. And has forced me to call literally everyone in the family so she can tell them lol.

That’s awesome Chago. Congrats to her, and you for getting her to the point for it to happen. Great to see

So awesome Chago! That just made my night.
I jumped 2 bucks off my stand this afternoon. Nice 8 and another. They never came back. Saw them in the field when I left

My Xpedition X Ring 7 is still going strong. This thing has seen things lol shes got some serious mileage on her. It is literally serial number 074 I believe or 64. I can't remember. I met them at a show and loved the bow and bought one of the first ones. Now they have grown pretty rapidly and have come out with a lot of new stuff. I just have not pulled the trigger on a new one yet. Although shes on her third string and this one looks like it needs a refresh as well. Maybe time to hang her up for something new.

It's been misting all day with a cold front coming through. Lows will be in the low 40s in the morning. Peak game activity from 8:11-11:45. I'll be out in the morning!

I passed up a very small yearling this morning but on the walk-in I heard a stick break on the edge of the creek so I shined my light over that way anda nice 140 class 10 point was standing there and that is only 80 yards from my stand

We got some crazy winds up here today. I got out of the stand at like 9am couldn't stand it anymore. I can only take so much tree surfing. And go figure the stand I picked today was my thinnest tree.

    Alright boys, pics coming shortly.

What a morning!! -4 today which is about 26ish Fahrenheit. Pretty brisk NW west this morning, but not terrible in the stand I sat in today. There are some good elevation to help me with the wind, and my thinking was it would help the animals too. So I got in nice and early just after 6am. Legal light was at 7:15 so I had some time to enjoy the cold and darkness lol. This stand is up on a higher elevation and has a large pond/ small lake behind me. Deer love to walk along it for cover. And in front of me is a clear ATV trail where they tend to walk acorss when feeling comfortable. So I am up on a hill in between. Around 815am I hear some twigs break and I see two does, or maybe a doe with fawn couldn't tell. They slipped behind me down by the water, in a spot that is kinda of a blind spot. And they stayed there, then took off running. They couldn't have winded me so I wasn't sure what spooked them. At 9am I got eyes on him. He must have been close the whole time but maybe was cautious to come out to follow those does. Because the does clearly ran from him. Either way he follow their exact path, when he got into the blind spot of course it felt like a year. I was scared maybe there was some sort of thermal going on and he would bust me too, but with the wind direction it didn't make sense. I saw the antlers stick out and I drew the bow. He took another 5 of 6 steps and nailed him at 40 yards. He ran roughly 30-40 yards and actually ran into a split between two trees. Fortunately he didn't break any tines doing so.

When you guys see the pics your going to laugh. This deer is literally last years bucks very close relative. Has to be, the racks are identical. The only difference is he doesn't have the giant brow tines. But the mass is all in the same spots, tines have same shape but are slightly smaller, he is a 12 like him, same shape of main beam and spread. He is a beast. Pics incoming now
