I got out there this morning. Got some eyes on two nice bucks, just wouldn't come in close enough. I have an idea to go in with my climber on the other side of the field. Just sneak in extra early. Unfortunately my weekend hunting is done this weekend. I might be able to sneak out tomorrow evening but I doubt it. And no Texas this year to my buddies farm as I got the baby on the way in November. Since I'm not going I am taking this week off from Tuesday forward. My wife knows I've planned the whole week and weekend to hunt. This is usually prime time for my brothel to start bringing the boys to the yard. I'll be working security all week, make sure none of these bucks cause my girls any trouble .

I am on edge of field in some hedge apple trees but there was to much foliage in and could not see well

Saw a really really nice 8 tonight. Like if he was under me I probably would have shot for sure. He was really typical nice mass. Probably a 125-135 8 point. But he just sat around 65 yards behind lots of crap where I couldn't get a nice shot. I had some opportunities inside 50 but he was just on my border for shooter or not. In December he's a dead man. But this early I'll wait a bit more.

I had 8 within the last hour of light. 2 does, 4 yearlings, and one nice buck but was way to far out in field. On the drive around the corner from my property I saw three bucks and 4 does in the corn field.

way to go Andrew! congrats! another 50 on the board will do.

I still gotta go out and get my trails cut for the deer and cut a fallen tree and move a stand. Just been working overtime like crazy. Hopefully tomorrow, if I'm not working, I'll get that all handled. I'll start shooting this week. Curious what my cameras have on them, especially the one with the fresh set of rubs on them.

congrats to everyone still huntin some bone. hopefully a couple of real big boys will give us the advantage.

Finally have the right wind for this stand. It's light out of the NW and about 64 degrees. Haven't had much activity on my camera but plenty of sign nearby. It's a little patch of woods near the city limits and doesn't get much pressure. [IMG]

RB, sometimes those woods near populated hold some big boys cuz of no hunting pressure.
