Finally got in and get to sit. Had some cleaning to do.
Upgraded from my typical Fergie to a measurable tonight. I did think he was a different one I had seen that was bigger, but completely honest woulda sent the arrow exactly the same anyway. My new best bow buck and hearing my kids in awe say “dad I never thought you were gonna get such a big buck” made it a great trophy. They went nuts when they heard I got one, especially so tired way past bedtime for the recovery. Drew on him 3 times with a couple min combined holding til he stepped in the exact spot I got my doe two years back, about 25 yard shot, maybe 60-80 yard recovery. Passed on a spike earlier and just txted the wife the bigger should be right behind and couple min later he walked out and ate for nearly half hour before giving the shot. Combined total of maybe 4 hours stand time for him, gotta say nice and efficient. I’ll get him measured and on the scorecard tomorrow. Time to relax some
Now that I kicked things off and upgraded buck size expecting similar...

Congrats Turro! Good way to start out the season.

It was low 90s on Saturday I opted for the lake over the stand same yesterday. Looks like high in 60s for the rest of 10 day forecast I should be able to get out a few times this week.

    Thanks again guys.
Getting the pics with the kids has been my favorite since having them. They’re just so excited and light up with them. My younger was so cute upset since he wanted me to get a bear too before coming in, but when he saw the buck he was glowing and couldn’t wait to touch it and pat it. They look forward to tracking more than anything else. They have to take part in it all. Me and my buddy got it to the edge of the plot I got it at and left the arrow glowing so they could “find it for me”. My older was so proud to drag it with me too. Tried his hardest. Hunting was fun when I first started, but since having kids it’s been the most rewarding I could imagine. Lots of great years ahead

I am from Western Massachusetts Chago... haha... and a die hard Patriots, Red Sox, & Bruins fan! lol
We are overrun w/ Giants, Jets, & Yankees fans here though because of how close we are to the NY line.

    I’m northern MN.

I don’t follow sports as much as when I was a kid. For a guy I’m way too casual to almost non following. Gotta hope for my home teams. And between the twins and Vikings probably teaches the kids a good life lesson of not getting hopes up too high cause things can always go bad...

Good luck on the bear Western. Still gonna try and make one happen here too, but kinda reprioritizing some plans so not too sure how this falls gonna play out
