Congrats Western, glad it worked out. Looks like a great time and happy hunter.
Congrats Bootlegger also. Excellent kill and getting us on the board.
Rbhunting1 I've thought of trying that too. From what I've read unfortunately is it has a horribly low success rate. Might have even seen 1/1000 or so works. I've found some fast growing hybrids that supposedly get to 15' and producing in 5 years. Next year I plan on getting a bunch going. With no oaks around here it could really make some hot spots

Cumberland County. About an hour westvof Knoxville and hour band half east of Nashville. I'm on top of the Cumberland plateau. I killed that one on my land. I'm off work all week. Gonna hunt my leasevsome as well.

Nice job on the doe. And awesome getting your daughter her first buck.

Last weekend we had like tornado warnings all weekend. So I decided to duck hunt instead. A tree swaying 2' back and forth doesn't interest me hahaha. So this weekend is our thanksgiving long weekend. So should get a couple hunts in.

It's supposed to hit 80 today, and last up until the evening so I'm hunting water right next to a bean field this evening. It's a spot where I have about 6 shooters running around, and we normally always see them in this field within the first three weeks of the season

Good luck on those guys andrew. Awesome bucks.
Got out some last few days. Does few nights but not in range. Then yesterday got out in town. Not too happy. Cam ran batteries dead in a week. Did get decent buck pic. Also got jackass cutting huge trails and lanes and set a stand ten yards behind my cam. Same guy that screwed up a few other of the better spots to hunt there with blazing trails and lanes through wetland management areas and piles of corn (not legal in state and especially town there). Sat there for a while and then moved for evening to a clearing. Half hour left and I stood and shifted a little and had two nice does come blazing in and stopped face to face with me under 10 yards. Caught me completely off guard. It was a hysterical off balance draw and couldn't get set and they bolted. Might not be able to get out much in the next week or so. Hopefully some. Hoping cold weather coming up gets them moving more. If nothing else hope it puts the mosquitoes away

I'll be out tonight in NY... First doe I see i'm shooting...

Checked a MA cam yesterday where the big boys have been and they are still around... I had a couple of daylight shots of the big 8 and he and the big 10 have been there most nights half hour or so after dark.. along w/ a few smaller bucks... 10/17 can't get here soon enough!!!!
If I could hunt Mass this week like NY I know I could kill that big 8... solid 130" 8.

Slow seeing deer this week. No rain in almost two months.

no luck last night... was close to 70 when I got in stand. Nice and cool this am.. however busy am at work and my younger daughter has a softball game tonight. I hope to get out Sunday afternoon... so many other commitments... I guess it's ok for now since there is not much activity on cam in NY right now... week and a half left till MA opens. I'm going to check 3 cams Sat and try to move one Sunday.

Hey guys, quick update. I've been hunting does behind the house since opening day. Have 3 sets in so far, but nothing dead quite yet. A few shot opps, but no decent footage so I elected to pass.

I'm taking a three day weekend to head to NW IL and spend some time on the leases for this cold front that's coming through the Midwest on Friday. Who knows if I'll have any luck, but I am confident that there are really good deer on both farms out there right now.

Good luck to you guys, I'm sure I'll give another update in the next few days.

I've got tomorrow off, so I'm headed even farther down in southern Illinois for the weekend, so hopefully I'll be on some good ones for this cold weekend

I will be out tomorrow morning!Today had a nasty storm roll in so that pushed me back under the blanket in bed! Rain was not that bad but the light show and thunder was bad.

Will be out in the morning! GoPro and Tactacam are both chared up and ready to go. Now setting up my camera arm and Sony Handycam in hopes to get some great footage and a KILL. I have yet to self film a hunt.

Good luck this weekend boys. I'm in a tree finally this evening. Remember I said my land was a doe brothel and I never see bucks until October. Well like the great Paul Stanley used to sing. "The boys are back in town". Got 3 nice bucks coming to this stand every evening. Tonight is cooling down. We're expecting frost tonight. Wind is kinda strong but it's in right direction so I decided to get into a tree. I'll be back in in the morning as well.
