Checked my cams today nothing but a few does and a blue heron. Other than that not a dang thing. I did move my stand to be hidden in the tree more but in the same spot by 5 yards. Looking for the big boy who was spotting me last year. I hope to have his number now!
Hey boys. Wifi is brutal out here. So no pics yet. I'll post when I'm home late next week. So far sable, kudu, nyala and zebra down. Been hiking up and down mountains all week. Eastern cape of South Africa is alot like hunting in the Sonoran mountains. Climbing up to 6000ft above sea level to get to these kudu. It was a incredible hunt. More details later. But just checking in
Had a couple small 8s where my daughter shot hers last year on the youth hunt. We'll see if they stick around as the youth hunt approaches. She is a lefty, so I have a ladder set up for her in there for a lefty shot. couple other small bucks and some does running around as well.
Lots of bears too. I may bring a buddy out to shoot one at the spot my daughter may hunt to get rid of them. There is a good sized boar and a sow with 3 cubs in 2 different spots... more bear pics than deer again... ugh.
Good looking 10 there Western! I got another pic of Droopy... According to the neighbors he’s 5 year old this year. We’ve only got pics this and last year of him. This is him last year! What a stud! Nothing exciting here. Gotta check cams again soon. No new sightings otherwise. Bear baiting started and zero hits so far. On the plus side if nothing comes in got enough going on this fall anyway. Great deer guys!! Looks to be another stron year for us. I’ve been focused on a bunch of projects and have my cams out soaking. Will hopefully pull in the next week or so and have some updates on hotlist. With that said I’m heading to Wyoming tomorrow for my first antelope hunt. I’ll post more pictures once I get there!!
