1. No, the law and my ethics are pretty clear in this situation. 2. If it falls 10 yards over the line I'm going in. Against the law? Yes. However not against my ethics and if I'm caught. I'll cough up the $500 and sleep like a baby. If it runs off, I'm going to get the CO and landowner involved. I wouldn't feel right sneaking around looking for it.
No to both. I know where my ethics/morals are weakest to temptation and a four-legged deer isn't in that category.
So you would let the deer rot 10 yards from the fence? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Not the best answer but I don't see myself in that situation. I think if I was out west where you can be hit with trophy fees it would be no to both.
No to 1 I did 2. Wont again without asking. Luckily we were able to settle it like adults an no legal action was taken.
Hunting the edge is hunting the land where you don't belong with a bow. I wouldn't be there so it wouldn't happen to me quite like this. If I did hit a deer that went just onto property where I know I don't belong and the CO is a buddy of the landowner and a guy I knew wouldn't help I'd go over his head or contact another local law enforcer to be a witness at least.
