Haha yeah i know i domt txt alot maybe a couple times amd its just to see what shes doing cuz i know shes really bored at home lol
I get angry text messages from my wife because i always forget to text her when i get into my stand. youd think id remember by now
In most of my stand locations I don't have phone service, so I just read a pre-downloaded book or magazine on my phone or kindle. However, I avoid looking at my phone screen when the sun is not fully out b/c the light from the phone screen can interfere with my vision during the early morning and late afternoon.
If I get bored I come up with something stupid to think about, play hunting games on my phone, but I might have t o start. The angry birds thing it seems to work for my buddy too. He decided he was just gonna sit in the truck and play bc it started to rain... I went to hunt and he saw more deer than I did!
I have a pocket size copy of the New Testament and Psalms (camo cover of course) that I got when I joined the Christian Sportsman's Fellowship (CSF). Also got a really nice cap I use when hunting or shooting. When I get a little bored I get the Bible out, open it up and put my finger down on the page to see what message God has for me that day. It can be very enlightening.
inspect my bow for problems that don't exist and read the warning label on my stand and vest over and over again
I do the same thing...lol. There Deer on my land are part Ninja...they'll pop in and out before you know it. Don't have a lot of big deer around so I don't wanna miss a chance on one.
Watch ESPN app is great for watching Nascar races no sound or try and find NFL games on JustinTV App. Also take naps, but not on purpose - the fresh and early alarms make me sooo darn tired. Hate to miss any action, just too darn hard to keep the eyes open sometimes. If the woods are busy I'm more than content on watching the wildlife play amongst me... Powerful stuff!!
Listen to podcasts or music in one ear on low volume, text and play games on my phone. I read during gun season.
Mess around on here or just read other sights. Mostly short articles so don't get to distrated by them and miss something. There comes a certain time of day that all my intention is on the woods though because that's when deer start showing up.
i look for deer. like someone else said, i have been waiting all year, and with my luck the minute I look down to read, or play, bambi's grandpa will walk by and I'll not notice.
I sit there enjoying nature . With all the critters out there , there's always something to watch . Couldn't tell you how many times a flicker of movement was all I caught before a few grunts led to me shooting a nice buck , I don't plan on doing anything to miss that . I was sitting with my youngest son a few years ago and we watched several doe get scent checked by a nice buck in the distance . It all happened within 30 yards of the oldest sons ground blind . The youngest son finally asked "why isn't he shooting , that's a big buck" and I got to explain to the that , that is what happens when you sleep in your ground blind I tried a couple of times to wake him up with a phone call but the vibrating phone wasn't enough to rouse him . We had a lot of fun telling him what all he missed out on when we finally woke him up around 10:00
Sometimes I'll check to see if any of my buds are seeing anything in a different area or a nap is always nice..
