I feel you. I don't think deer honestly associate the blob shape with a human. I purchased mine a little larger then I need for my height. This allows me to tuck my entire head into the bag if needed. I have been in my cocoon before only to hear a deer walking, come out of my cocoon and make the shot. :) You can get away with quite a bit of movement because most of it is inside the bag rather than outside.

I definitely get that...I'll admit I made the mistake of trying some Sitka gear on and holding it in hand a while back. I know I will end up with some...but you're thought has made me go possibly the cheaper route and not get the extreme incinerator or Fanatic and lean to the Fanatic Lite or even a pair of their pants for now in the short term as the IWOM or HBS is high on my desire list.

I solely wear Sitka gear. I bought my first couple pieces 2 seasons ago and the addiction is real having now had the best. I have a few different pairs of gloves, masks, neck gaiters, equinox top and bottom, multiple base layers, fanatic hoody, stratus vest, and the fanatic lite jacket and pants. I went the lite route like you are thinking as I had the layering mentality and assumed I wouldn't overheat on the non-frigid days. I can say that I am looking to get the fanatic or incinerator top/bottom. I also steered clear of the fanatic bibs due to the material. I steered clear of the incinerator bibs purply for price. As for the top I thought I would like the fanatic lite jacket for the pouch. That said, when layering the jacket feels short in length and I dislike trying to zip the jacket (awkward). With all this said, I know I want the incinerator jacket instead of the fanatic lite jacket. I'm also less worried about temps with this as I have many layering options for mid season given fanatic hoody, base, vest, and equinox jacket. For bottoms I debate hanging unto fanatic lite pants in addition to adding the fanatic or incinerator bibs.

Ty, if you're patient, you can pick this stuff up on the AT classifieds, usually at a huge savings over new. You have to keep a close eye on them as the really good deals go fast. If I were considering going this direction, that's how I would buy it. But like I said, when buying used, you have to be patient in acquiring everything you want.

    Blessings.........Pastorjim
