I have been using Sitka for years. Top notch stuff. People always scoff at the price, but you would be surprised at how many people I set up with a $500 suit on a weekly basis after they try it on.

Absolutely. After receiving my order a few weeks back and trying the stuff on, it's exactly what I'm looking for. Close fit, quiet, and warm. I'm excited to try it out in the field this year.

I ended up getting the Core T Zip, Kelvin Vest, Stratus Jacket and Stratus Pants. I have other layers that I will use when necessary (CG 3.0).

I have both scent blocker and Sitka. I like both but also have issues with both.

Scent Blocker... not warm enough with several layers in cold Ontario weather.
Sitka... no carbon so I question whether deer can smell me more when I use the Sitka.

For the most part, I prefer the Sitka and you cant go wrong with them. Their products fit better, last longer and are bomb proof. For cold weather hunting I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the incinerator bib and jacket along with accessories. This is a FULL down suit with Gore TEC technology and THERE IS NOTHING THAT COMPARES FOR WARMTH. I hate being cold and frequently am. I got the incinerator suit and I was not cold once even after hours in the stand in well below freezing temps. I hunted longer as a result and had more success... An outstanding product.

Be mindful of your scent control routine and the wind when hunting and you will be ahead of relying on carbon activated clothing. Then again, I'm not sold on carbon technology. That being said, the quality of material from Scent Blocker is great, so it's not as if you're wasting money.

I agree but if one insist on carbon, they could get a carbon base layer.

Well I just spent ~$700 in sitka gear and used that nice discount. You guys are right about buying now, some of the gear in my size was out, ill keep checking back to grab the rest.

Got the core bottoms and top, stratus jacket but the bottom was out. Keeping an eye out for that full fanatic to complement the stratus.

Didn't notice the question. Was responding to Backcountry's post. Went back and saw it.

Glad you're happy with the purchase. If being purchased stand alone, there are other options out there. With that being said, I may still purchase more down the road since the system itself layers well with no bulk, but a quality base layer is a quality base layer imho.

I've been waiting on a merino zip t since march. That was the item sitka sent the batch back to be redone. I was first told September and now they're saying October. That's getting near the point I will need it. I want the forest pattern because there is a chance I'll be using it as a shirt in the field when I get too hot to leave the jacket on.

If it's not here in October, I may need to get a different merino base top.

I have the Stratus, nice Jacket. Love the Windproof. The jacket is cut pretty short as it is meant for use with the bibs(which I do not own). It ends right at my waist line. I just picked up a Jetstream Jacket which will probably see more use now. The fanatic setup is the cats ***!

    First Lite.

I forgot to mention, to anyone looking to buy Sitka. If at all possible try the stuff on before you buy/order it!! This stuff is cut athletically and fits small and tight. I have to size up just about everything!

Hmm dang, uh I guess I shouldn't have bought that jacket as I have a bigger shoulder build and makes me medium/large. But then my arms are too short for long, kindve of a dilemna. Last thing I want is wind sneaking in through my waistline.

I bought the stratus to use in conjunction with the fanatic I believe as fanatic+stratus = kelvin?

Jetstream is supposed to be for waterproof/really cold? I was thinking about first lite, but that sitka discount can't beat it. Besides isn't first lite the exact same as sitka just no pattern? T hought they were both merino wool.

I'm 5'10 170#. My large Stratus is really tight on me. I bought a large in the Jetsream but it is cut bigger, I could go XL easy.

The Jetsream is not waterproof but is windproof which is why I bought it. Low bulk warmth.

FirstLite does things a little differently that Sitka. From what I've read, their merino is actually better quality.

Well this is what I get for ordering in bulk so that I could make the shipping cost worth it. I wont be home for atleast 30 days to take advantage of their refunds. I just hope it fits.

Im 5'7 and normally 160. Right now im cutting weight so im about 148lbs, I have a wide upper chest, think the medium will do me fine? or should I upgrade to the large sight unseen? I just realized, the last thing you want is something that is too small while drawing the bow back.

    I'm 5'9 1/2" and 170.

I bought xl fanatic jacket and bib because my shoulders are a little wide. I returned it for large and it fits much better. Everything I got is large and is fine but I could have done medium on the base pants. Same issue with the ascent jacket. Large is much better than the xl

I would do the Large. If your past the 30 days just call them and explain the situation, I'm sure they will take care of you.

Thanks guys Im trying to NOT do returns because I hate paying for shipping. One thing that pisses me off is buying a $5 item and paying $12 to ship.

But to get the replaced item back I have to pay for that right? I had to pay $20 in shipping for $700 in clothes, which actually isn't bad, but it was the same at $300. Sorry, I seriously hate shipping. Add $23 in tax to that, just enrages me = )

The two times I exchanged items at Sitka they fronted the shipping back and forth.
