I realize this topic is probably been beaten to death 100 times on these forums but I would just like some opinionsbefore I go spend $500+ on more clothing.

Right now, I have the Sitka Celsius Bibs, Jacket, and Vest, Core Top and Bottoms and Traverse Top and Bottoms. I live in South Dakota so needless to say, around the end of October these get to be a little chilly without extreme layering. I went on a huge Sitka gear kick when it was available on CamoFire last year so I got it all for pretty reasonable but now I am wanting something for late season because I love the gear however it doesn't do too well in 20 degrees and under which is basically 2 months of my hunting here.

So my question is, in your opinions, would I be better of going with the Fanatic Jacket and Bibs and layer with what I have already if need be or should I get some of the Kelvin line which is on sale for pretty reasonable and layer with what I already have? Or is there something else out there (other than the Incinerator) that would be better that what I have suggested? Any responses will be greatly appreciated.

Your question was the same I had when I went on a sitka kick. I just couldn't justify spending even more money to have a later season suit. Loved the sitka system but most of the systems really work well for open country spot and stalk imho. But if you have some room under your current gear I'd seriously look into scentblockers S3 wool baselayers. I purchased an extra shirt just to wear at home very very warm.

On a second note this fourm has some of the most helpful people on it please try and play nice.

I apologize for "not playing nice" it just frustrates me when people pull the "have you heard of the search feature card" that is pointless and fruitless in my opinion and waste of their and my time. I still don't think my question is as relevant to yours as apparently you and the other poster think. I was asking specifically about the fanatic and kelvin lines. Thanks for the advise on the scentblockers, though, I will look into it.

I had the kelvin stuff and sent it right back after I opened it. It was cheap looking so I opted to get the more expensive stuff but its well worth it. Don't have any of the colder gear yet.

There are 54 threads on Sitka in the archives...I did not feel like linking them all but the one I did link contains info on placing custom orders with Kendall at Camofire that I thought could save you money.

When I recieved the Kelvin jacket and vest they felt like the old coats I had when I was a kid that were marshmello looking. Now the coat by it self wasn't bad but after adding the Kelvin vest also it was pretty puffy. I didn't care for the material as it was noisier than the other fabrics I'd seen of Sitka. I love my Sitka camo I just didn't care for the Kelvin model. I'd suggest trying one on if your interested or haven't already. You may like it and it might work for you. I just didn't care for it. To each his own.
