I've been looking at slowly replacing much of my worn camo over the next couple years. I have to say that I'm very intrigued by the Sitka line. I was hoping to get another look at it in person when I was down at Cabela's last month, but they didn't have any out.

    So, do you have any?
If so, what are your thoughts on it?

I have some, and it's really good in bad weather. I would recommend it to anyone, a bit pricey, but it works.

I f I had to hunt in much bad weather I would probably get some, maybe a jacket and pants, something like that. Everything I have heard and read about Sitka gear has been good. The worst weather I have to hunt in is probably the too hot and humid kind, though.

Everything I have read is positive. I am also looking into adding some, and have not read anything that would discourage me from buying any. I tried some on at my local Sportsman's Warehouse and the stuff fit great.

I think the quality, the fit, and the effectiveness (concealment aside) is hard to beat. I just don't like the optifade pattern in the woods.

I have it and love it. I would recommend it. It is comfortable and wears like iron.

How would predator compare? Especially in the very cold (0 - 20 range)?

Great feed back guys, thanks! I've also read good things about it, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Too bad the tub on my Jeep needs to be replaced  I think that's going to kill my hunting budget for now.

I've also been looking to replace my camo, and get better gear.

I have a Colorado archery elk hunt this September, and in 2012 I'm bowhunting moose in the Yukon...

I've narrowed it down to both Sitka and Rivers west. I HATE the sitka pattern but the gear is awesome from what I've heard. I haven't heard anything bad about Rivers West either.

So if the deciding factor is camo pattern, I'll likely go the Rivers West route unless someone has something better to look into!

If you are thinking of hiking in Rivers West, forget about it! lol even their light gear is ridiculously warm.

Sitka gear is solid stuff, but I'd buy it used/on clearance for older camo patterns though. $600 jackets and $200 pants add up way to fast! haha

I have some Sitka Gear and have used it since they their start. I have no complaints, but my favorite pieces are the 90% jacket & pants, the Jetstream Vest and Incinerator Jacket and Bibs....course for their rain gear, which I have is the Downpour Seriest, is the first rain gear that I have owned that actually kept me dry being out all day in miserable weather.

Just this year I added some Kuiu to my line up, you may want to look into their line. I haven't tried the Kuiu, have to say though, side by side, the Kuiu Gear seems to be better fitting and the quality is top notch. I would bet it will be the next talked about gear !

I hear that as well...for Colorado in sept, I'll probably just end up wearing a long sleve T shirt and whatever pants I have. My buddy who guided there says it'll be hot!

For the Yukon, I'll probably have some of the Rivers West at least in the pack for when we aren't hiking...which will be a majority of the time. We'll spend the most time glassing, or in the boat cruising the lake(s), and creeks. It'll likely be a very wet trip....good waterproof gear, a must.

After reading over this I've noticed I have a lot of buddies that guide in different places lol. Fine by me :)
