I was just curious what percentage you sit or stand while hunting. I should probably stand more, but I would guess that I stand about 30% of the time. I have shot most of my deer while sitting.
I sit the entire time. I shoot sitting and practice that way. A few of my stand have a rifle shooting rail that is never down when I'm in them. I also hold my bow the entire time. No bow hook for me.
I generally sit. However at "prime time" I'm usually standing. I'm not afraid to take a shot sitting I just prefer to stand while shooting if possible.
Tree Stand = Sitting (I fidget too much if I stand for long). Shoot Standing. In the Blind = Sitting. Shoot Sitting.
I've found that the longer that I stand while in the tree, the more I tend to move and get picked off. But when I stand up I usually stand as close to the tree as I can to break up my silhouette. But I would say that I sit around 75% of the time while on stand. Shoot whenever you get the best oppuritunity, sometimes I shoot while sitting but prefer to stand just like I practice. That's my take
First I thought this was about something else and I was going to say it depends on if its in the middle of the night or not... I have yet to shoot a deer, but so far I sit. I've stood for one deer but didn't get a chance to shoot. The military didn't leave my knees in the best of shape so I sit for the long hours on my hunting bucket.
Its a 50/50 thing with me. I like to sit until i get cold then i stand up for awhile it warms me up. It also depnds on what stand i using as well. If im in my summit climber i probably sit more, but in my LW Assualt i like to stand more and lean on the tree because the seat is a little small and uncomfortale to me.
