I am looking into getting a sight with only one pin. I was wondering how many of you guys use a single pin sight? Which one do you shoot? I was looking at the HHA sights and I really like them. I am going to shoot 3Ds and hunt with this bow. Is there any issues hunting with a single pin sight? I could see problems if the animal was moving closer or getting farther away. Any info on these would be great!
I love mine. I shoot the HHA OL5500. For hunting I leave it set at 25 yards. Little high at 20 little low at 30. I'm a big fan.
This is what I use....... http://www.elusivewildlife.com/products.htm?section=22&p=productsList&page=9
What are the prices of the vital gear sights? I looked at the web page and they looked nice but I didnt see a price (I may have missed it).
I recently switched back to a single pin sight. I had shot one for a while and then went to a multi-pin sight. I'm back and staying this time. For hunting it is nice to only have one pin to focus on. I'm using the Viper slider and just bought an HHA DS 5519 for my new bow.
it depends on where you get them as to how much they are. Through a dealer they are going to be pretty high, but if you call their number, which is on their website, you could probably get one for around $100. It's an investment but, if it ever malfunctions you send it in and they will send you a new one or fix the one you have at no charge and no questions asked. Their customer sevice is top notch.
Well Im 99% sure Im going to get the HHA OL-5019, thanks for your help. Any other input on sights would be appreciated!
I really like my single pin sight (it's just a trueglo rover). I've been looking at upgrading to the HHA sight, but have also been considering the Montana Black Gold Easy Glider. When stand hunting for deer I keep it at 20 yards. My stands are pretty high and my bow is pretty quick so there isn't that much difference out to 30 yards. If you practice from an elevated stand with a single pin sight you get to know where it shoots pretty quickly. When I'm moose hunting (from the ground) I keep it set at 30 yards and with some practice I'm good from 0 - 40 yards without adjustment... not to mention the vitals are about 16 inches square on a broadside adult moose. I actually went to a multi- pin sight two years ago for awhile and then switched back to a single pin sight. It just works better for me.
I'm also interested in switching to a single pin. I have cost myself a couple of deer in recent years by not concentrating on the pin I should have been using. Thanks for the info.
so how exactly does using 1 pin work? you just have 1 pin and you just have to adjust where you put the pin on the deer? I am fairly new here and trying to figure out how a single pin sight would work. And I assume for a single pin sight to work you need to have a pretty fast bow?
