Nice review!! How heavy is the fast Eddie xl? Also do they come with a light or is it separate? Thanks Sent from my SM-N950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It does not come with a light. The XL with the double pin, mounting block and hardware is 14.5 ounces. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
Another question for the hha owners. The king pin does that require 2 separate blue burst lights (dial magnifier and pin) or will one do both? Weighing options on the two sights. Sent from my SM-N950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
The burst light only lights up the pin. Not sure if there is a way to light up the dial magnifier, honestly never really found myself in situations that I needed to so I've never really thought about how to.
I just seen that hha advertises you can light up the dial. I emailed hha and yes you need separate lights for that. Thanks still debating between a hha king pin .19 or a spot hogg fast Eddie xl. I hate decisions like this. Lol Sent from my SM-N950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
As a side note, the King Pin now comes with a brass pin so you can remove the magnifier if you want. I've done this on mine as I prefer the pin - easier to see from odd angles and in low light. I don't have a light on my dial yet, but as I do more blind hunting I can certainly see where it would come in handy.
Thanks for all the advice and replies. I'm still not fully set on what I'm gonna get or if I'm gonna just stick with the hha optimizer lite elite sight I have and add a 2nd n 3rd axis adjustment to it. Sent from my SM-N950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I think I’m going to give the HHA a try. I also am going to have to get a quiver to set up my new rig. Anything to consider when picking out a quiver that won’t interfere with the sight? Thanks. Setting up an Elite Energy 35 Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I know its different, and not normal, but give the Quivalizer a look. I put one on my new bow first of the year, and I swear on my children, it may be the best thing I've ever bought for my bow. It does everything its says it will and more. Just to be clear, I'm not a pro staffer or nor do I get any compensation at all from them, I'm just dead serious with the quality and the performance of the Quivalizer.
After 12 years of using a Spot Hogg Hunter multi pin, I switched to a Fast Eddie with the hard mount and can't believe it took me this long. I love the thing so far and killed a late season deer using it. I'm a huge fan of anything Spot Hogg makes and this sight does not disappoint. One of the features I wasn't sure if I'd like, but found it very good, was the big alignment ring. It really makes lining this site up a breeze, especially in a hunting scenario. Go get one and don't look back.
My vote is for the Sword Sights Judge, Great sight, tough, bright, dependable. I've used mine the last two years and it is a really great sight!
Well my choice was made for me by the wife. She got sick of hearing me debate the plus's n minus's of each sight. So she ordered me a hha king pin kp 5519 yesterday while I was at work. Her reason is since I've used hha for the past 12 to 14 years I must like an plus she said I've already got the lens kit and light for an hha If needed. Lol damn I love that woman. Thanks everyone!!! A question for you dovetail mount guys. Do you keep it extended all the time? Even walking through thick woods and pulling it up on a rope? Or do you slide it back/stow it, then extend when ready to hunt? Never used one and I just picture that thing getting knocked out of whack or broken
I haven’t had any issues with it sticking out too far walking through brush and stuff. I try to stay in the habit of extending it as soon as I get it out of my case so I don’t forget. I guess if it did start to get hung up you could always retract it then slide back out once able. I noticed on a couple hunts that when I went to put back in my case I realized I forgot to extend it. Glad I didn’t shoot at an animal! I’ve gotten really anal about setting the sight when I pull it out of case. I also forgot one time which dot to set the bar at. It can throw your shot off quite a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
OK, sounds like extending/retracting is pretty normal then. That's what I was wondering. I might just stay with the old school standard mount
I find with my HHA kingpin I forget to check the range wheel sometimes at my first shot. Yesterday in practice I shot at 60 yds with my wheel set at 30. Haven’t had it happen while hunting yet but I can see with settin up all the camera gear and everything else going on it would be easy to forget to check your range wheel. A few times after gettin all set up I’ve been sittin an hr or so and realized the release is still hanging from the riser.
apex covert pro dot sight. money well spent. I have bad vision and this helps get clutter out of my eyeline
