I have a new z7 and i have initially put a single pin adjustable HHA sight on my bow. I am worried that as a deer comes in and changes distant that i will not have time to adjust my sight. What is the general opinion on these 2 types of sights? My other sight is a 5 pin True Glo with the pins stacked vertical. My only worry with this setup is the lost of sight picture by all the pins.

I've been hunting for years with a single pin sight. if you sight it in for 25 yards on the ground, it will shoot a little high out of a stand. pace off or range find your shooting lanes, then aim a little high or a little low based on the distance. I've never had a problem with this, shot many deer this way. in most cases your shots are not more than 30 yards in the woods due to debris, so just put it on the spot and let it go. don't worry so much.

Why not get the best of both worlds? I'm shooting a adjustable multi-pin setup. I've got three pins 20,30,40 which I use as my hunting setup. I can adjust to exact distances for 3-D with the multi pin cage dialing in off one tape for the top pin and another tape for the bottom pin which really extends my range. For indoor this winter I will swap the multi pin cage for a single pin scope. I can do all this w/ the same base setup. It's made by Davis called "The System" http://www.megavision.net/davis/
He also has a ebay store. Great sights, super solid, better then the big names and great price to.

I use a single pin adjustable sight, have it sighted in at 18-20 yards. Practice your shots from different distances and angles and you should never have to adjust your pin when you get used to it. I never adjust mine in the field.

I have had the HHA sights on a couple of my bows, loved them for 3-d and target shooting, hated them for hunting. Not that they were not realistic or effective, just had the same mental thought of the deer of a lifetime being @ 35 yards and my sight dialed in @ 20 and forgetting to change the sight. I use a Sword Twilight Hunter with 5 fixed pins sighted from 20 to 60 yards. JMHO

I use a 5-pin sight, but really only use 2 pins. A lot of people tell me its good to use one pin and have it set at like 25 yards then learn how to hold it differently at different distances, but I don't think that is consistent enough to have the confidence to take a shot at a big buck or something. I like precision, regardless of if it takes a long time to sight all 3 pins in. I'd rather have the comfort of knowing that where I put that pin, that's where the arrow will go rather than holding high or low

For hunting I would defiantly use a 5 pin. No messing around. No holding over or under because the range changed and now you can't move your sight. Not to mention those precious seconds it takes to move the pin and have the biggest buck of your life move through your shooting lane to never be seen again.

i 100% agree with this, i used to shoot single pin adj. and how frustrating is it to have a deer move in and your trying to adj your sight and befor you know it the deer is gone. i then went to a 3 pin and realizedthat out to 60yds my 3 pin didnt cut it so now im at 5 pin and there is no guessing, no holding high or low. 5 pin is the best hunting sight hands down

I have used the HHA for over a decade, honestly, I have never had a problem adjusting it whether it be whitetails, decoying antelope or muleys. You should be fine.
