I was just on the 'puter here looking at some of the 2013 PSE bows. WOW!! Besides my Bear I own now, PSE is the only bow I have ever shot. Anyway, as I have mentioned on here before, it has been almost 10 years since I have bow hunted. While looking at the 'new' lineup that PSE has, I noticed that quite a few of them are dual cam. I remember hearing 10+ years ago that dual cam bows were harder to tune than single cam bows. Is this still true today? I did see some sweet looking bows from the PSE 2013 line-up. I also want to take a good look, and shoot a few of the new Matthews bows. I have always heard real good reports on the Matthews bows. But, I was just real curious to hear what everyone thought about the difference between single cam bows and dual cam bows in general. Not worrying about manufacturer, just the difference between the sc and dc. I will try to get a chance to try and shoot some new bows, but with a dual cam, how much different is the draw cycle? Thanks everyone for your input.
PSE actually has several cam systems. The dual cam and single cam bows are on their economy line bows. The pro series bows have a hybrid cam system. It is a cross between 1 cam and dual cam. It gives you the best of both worlds.
Look into the binary cam system from bow tech. I love my d350 shoots smoking fast with the feel of a longer axel to axel bow.
Any of them will shoot for you, once the bow is setup and initially tuned you shouldnt have to touch it again, so it shouldnt be a concern, especially for bowhunting where you arent switching up arrows or accessories often like some target archers do. The only thing i would be concerned about is the draw and overall feel. Different cam systems draw very differently from eachother so its best to try a bunch of bows and see what you like. Do yourself a favor and try as many brands of bows as you can and not just ones that come up alot on the internet. There are alot of great companies out there with alot of good bows that feel different to everybody. For example, Prime bows are absolutly great shooters yet you rarely hear about them on forums websites reviews etc. Good luck finding a bow! Im sure you will like a bunch of them, there are so many that shoot nice.
