So what makes one better than the other.
I shoot a Bowtech Admiral. It has Dual cams. I see alot of new bows with single cams.
I have never shot a single so i dont know how it would be different ,
    Please explain
    Thanks

I think dual cams are faster in most cases, and single cams are smoother in most cases. Dual cams used to be harder to keep in tune (read as timing issues), but those problems are mostly resolved from what I've read. I think that dual cams generally have higher let off also, but I'm not completely sure about that one.

Actually, Bowtech uses a binary cam system, which is neither 2 cam or single cam system. Each system has their place in the archery world. As stated above the 2 cam and binary cam systems are usually faster than the single cam, and by design the single cam should be smoother to draw.

Dual cam bows are generally built faster and solocam bows are generally more forgiving, smoother draw, and just generally more comfortable.

That's not to say that all dual cam bows are faster than all solocam; nor is it to say all solocam are smoother and more forgiving than dual cam.

A lot of bows are being built now with what they call a cam and a half. A lot of Hoyt models are with fuel cams.

Personally, I like solocam bows much better. I'm not a big speed bow person. a 320fps IBO rating is plenty for me.

had a old champion firehawk dually, was a bear to keep in tune , it was a 10 year old bow , now retired one of the limbs started to crack at draw a few years ,ago , picked up a solo cam to replace it easy to draw at max poundage, no frills and drama on needing adjustments every other day , couldnt be happier,as stated by the above dual cams r faster, haven't shot any of the new stuff yet but from what i have read, they pretty much have the bugs werked out ,solo cams do seem a lot easier to tune and set up ,and imo hold the tune , basically less head aches ,good luc on a choice if yer buying a new bow
