I made this bow hoist rope holder and wanted to share. I believe it is very similar to what others use with hooks that are mounted on their treestand. That would be fine if I only used my climber. But I have a climber, ladder stand and 1 hang on stand. I need something that was portable, light and cheap to make but yet still effective.

Basically what I did is take two 4-1/2” rope cleats and screw them into a piece of 1” square wood. This allows me to take this rope holder in my saddle bag for my climber as well as a back pack when I use my ladder stand.
Now I don’t have to worry about a tangled hoist rope ever again!

This is what the holder looks like with out the rope:

Now I take one of my rope hooks and put it over one end of a cleat. Then just start wrapping it end to end around the cleats.

When I am done I take the other rope hook and put it over a cleat opposite of the one I started on.

This is what it looks like when done.

Total price to build not including rope= $5.00

Pretty nifty. What do you use to attach it to your stands?

I don't attach it to my stands. I wanted to use it on multiple stands.

When I am arrive at my stand I un wrap the rope, connect to my bow, connect the other end to me and climb. Then I pull my bow up, wrap the rope back onto the holder and put away in my bag. It takes me all of 10 seconds to wrap/unwrap it.

This mealy stops my from just jamming my rope in my bag only to find it a tangled mess the next time I want to use it. I tried just hand wrapping the rope but it still sometimes still would get tangled from bouncing around in my bag.

This not only is much faster and easier and it never gets tangled anymore. :D

I leave my pull ropes tied to my hang on stands, but when I use my Lone Wolf hang on or my climber, my rope is always tangled. Going to make up something like that. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice GFY.

Doesn't anyone else use parachute cord for a bow rope? The stuff is about 99.9% impossible to tangle or get a knot in. It's cheap and available at pretty much any military surplus location.
