Season in Ohio starts in 19 days. I will be out morning and evening for the opener.

 

With opening day just 2 sleeps away, i feel like its time we get this thread rolling again. The last few weeks i have been making my adjustments, hanging the remainder of my stands and getting prepared for the season. We have also been working on a preseason video that is not finished yet.

My trusty rides this fall. The quad will be garaged for the year once the hunting starts, but it sure does make for a quick camera check...





A few weeks ago while hanging stands i ran into this little guy. First time ive seen this species of tree frog, and he made himself a home in my climbing sticks...

 

While roaming through Walmart today killing time after class, i ran across an ingenious liquid that will no doubt garuntee my success



GENIUS!! The sucker that i am for gimmicks bought it. The ingredients state about 43534 different kinds of salt, and it smells and taste like Jolly Ranchers. The back said nothing about sexual attractant. So naturally my expectations are not high.

I made 2 of these mock rubs near a bait pile that i already have established on my farm. The deer are already coming in, so i want to see how they react to the new scent. Im taking out a number of inexperienced hunters this fall including my youngest brother Ethan and my girlfriend Makenze, and naturally i want them to see deer. I have a double ladder set up 20 yards from this pile and hopefully they will both be able to take deer out of it this fall.

 

Looks like you have things figured out. Any good bucks on the trail cam?

 

I also wanted to test out the "Green Rub Slime ****" in a sexual situation, so i went with old faithfull and made a few power scrapes with rubs located nearby.

Tinks has worked for me in the past to attract bucks:









So i set up a few mocks on a ridge, interlaced with a few rubs. The typical "scrape line", and i put it at a heavily traveled connection point where 2 streams and 3 ridges come together. Cuddeback is up. Late next week well see how she looks.
