I hunted the recently logged out farm down the road. Saw a couple pushed does running across an adjacent stand. Me and my buddy Nathan took off to intercept them in the clear woods and they must have took another route across the road.

I saw 4 does and a spike, my girlfriend and Matt saw a buck and doe apiece, and my buddy jim missed a buck. It was a good morning.

The rest of deer season rolled by without any more kills. We saw some does and immature bucks but nothing that caught our eye.

Right now i have the cams up on travel routes and the cornpile to see what bucks survived.

Got some good late season news!

One of our main target bucks, the big 8, has survived the season. He has another weekend of gun, and muzzleloader season to go. Hopefully i can get a crack at this guy in January with the bow.

Some other good news, we got permission to add a 2-3 acre food plot to the north part of our farm. Its going to have a pond to the south, woods to the north, and cornfields on the east/west sides. Were pretty excited to finally plant some plots on the farm.

Heres a quick rough map on the location of our plot. The deer already use this area in the evenings since its a mixture of grass/crp and its relative location to the crop fields. As a food plot, it should be hot..

Been quite around here. Haven't done any deer hunting for awhile. The little brothers have been knocking geese and squirrels down though. Isaac has crafted some masterful wild game recipes as well.

For Christmas i got a Covert MP6. Pretty excited to get this cam out during turkey season.

Also, my trusty Cuddeback Capture finally died. Got full of water. Gonna trade it in on a Cuddeback Attack IR. Well have 4 cams out starting in 2013 and most likely will be purchasing two more Coverts to give us 6. Should be able to cover the farm well and give us a good idea of what to expect come fall 2013.

    Happy holidays to all!
