Nothing last night, for either of us. No explanation really, were just not seeing deer like we used too.

It is possible if you have a high doe/buck ratio that most of the bucks have already locked down on receptive does. You might want to deploy the estrus. the Bucks are really starting to move here in Iowa. I will tell you that the majority of that movement is still at night. Focus your efforts on the bedding areas. Good luck man!

Honestly, trail cams show a pretty good buck/doe ratio, activity is mostly nocturnal though...

Mornings have been bad here in SW PA this week, evenings have been awesome. They have been moving early in the afternoon, 2:00 p.m. they really start moving and its been non-stop action from then till dark.

Mature bucks will be the first to lock down a receptive doe regardless of ratio. The difference is how far they travel to find one. Good luck bud.

You know my area well Jay, the deer are there...i believe the pressure has pushed them to be mostly nocturnal at this point.

I wont be back out till saturday...

We have a new animal on the hitlist.. A doe. That looks like it has been hit by a car or a bad shot by a neighbor. She's pretty big. I saw her come into the CRP field by my stand and she limped into my shooting lane at 6:05 at 40 yards. She started across the field at about 5 and I couldn't bare but take the shot. But I didn't and she bedded near my stand. I'm hoping for a shot at her soon but she might not be alive tommorow. Kinda sad when things like this happen but that's why they call it hunting.
