I like knowing that I am set to 40 yards. Beyond that I may have time to range and adjust for the 53 or 67 yard shot. You never know what will pop out inside 40 yards and missing that opportunity would make for a long walk out.. not a fan of the single pin but they are good for some applications.
Besides the sight clutter I mentioned above,it always felt like I was guessing. It went like this. "This is a 37 yard shot do I hold the 40 low or the 30 high? Ok,the bottom one is my 40 so I'll hold it just a little low. Crap,now I cant see the deer because of all these pins!" There is pluses and minuses to each set up, its all in what a person prefers and is comfortable with.No right or wrong way.
