Got my first bow for Christmas and the sight that came with it was junk so I purchased a Black Gold Rush the other day and put it on my bow and went out today to try and sight it in. I've never done this before and read a couple articles on the internet and spoke with rep where I bought it. I started by shooting at 20yds with my 30yd pin to get my horizontal and vertical adjustments correctly as the articles/recommendations state. I was hitting about 2 feet low off the bat so I lowered the sight housing all the way I could and i was still shooting 8-10 inches low with my 30yd pin at 20yds. I was able to get my horizontal adjustment to line up with the target but I'm puzzled as to how to get my vertical up since I can't go any lower unless I move all the pins down.

I was told to get vertical/horizontal correct at 20yds with my 30yd pin then go back to 20yd pin and move the pin till they are accurate and sin on for the rest of the pins. Am I doing this completely wrong? Any advice?

I mounted it on the last holes I could, maybe thats where I went wrong?

I know on my old G5 sight you could take the screws out of both verticle and horizontal and flip the peice that comes of one way or the other to gain more verticle movement. I had to do this when I switched from my reezen to zxt for whatever reason.

I'm not familiar with black gold sights but I'm assuming you can do the same. Other than that you would haveta move the pins and then resight in moving the housing.

The L shaped peice in the pic is what I'm talking about flipping one way or the other.

Well, normally you just leave the 20 pin where it is in the sight housing and adjust your windage and elevation for the whole sight to get the 20 pin hitting dead on at 20 yds. Then you raise or lower the rest of your pins at their respective yardages.

You set your sight by moving the sight towards where your arrow is hitting. If you run out of adjustment there should be a way to mount the sight lower or higher on the riser.

    My two cents..
Chase the arrow with your pin. Go up to 10 feet from the target and use your line of sight to hit the target. Evaluate where your 20 yard pin is from there. Set your 20 yard pin to hit the target first. Back up some, shoot and adjust until you are good at 20.
It is hard for me to explain without knowing your gear and a shop may be a good place to get set up at 20 yards ... if they have a lane. Chase the arrow with your left / right and when centered if you are shooting low, lower your 20 yard pin. You just have to do the rodeo, shoot, adjust, shoot ... until you get your top pin set and work your way back from there. Start off close and don't be afraid to move the pins individually. If you run out of sight or your last pin hits then adjust the whole rack. Hope that helps some.
Good Luck, you'll figure it out.

Yep. That should do it. Had to do this with a TR React sight.

Thanks everyone. I'll have to see if it can be flipped and keep shooting.

Went back out today. There is t anything to flip around. I think I'll have to just move the pins down.
