I just bought my very first compound bow. I am new to all of this, so please bear with me and appreciate any help I can get. I bought a Bear Done Deal complete with the package. It has a 3 pin sight. How do I go about or what steps do I take to adjust the sight?
I would suggest getting about 15 feet from the target and shoot a few arrows at the spot. This will allow you to see if you are left or right of the target. Move your sight in the direction of the arrows. What you are trying to do is get you close to center of what you are aiming for without worring about being high or low. After you have your center, then step back to say 10 yards and shoot a few more arrows and see if you are high or low of what you are aiming for. Now you can move your top pin up or down to match where the arrows. ( Always chase the arrows when adjusting the sight ) If you have a 3 pin sight, you could set up your pins for 10, 20 and 30 yards. But work on shooting consistant groups at 10 yards and then start shooting from 20....just take your time and work your way up. Hope this helps
