I am new to archery so please excuse my ignorance. I have followed the setup instructions that came with my Bear Apprentice 2 with mixed results. My 27 inch draw length was set for me at a pro shop. I am shooting about 12 inches high at 30 yards. I have moved the pin sight up as high as it will go, and I am still shooting high. The nock point is set at 90 degrees, and parallel with an arrow laid across the rest, both methods found the same nock point. I suspect the last thing to do is move the peep sight down a little. Anything I am missing? The bow shoots fine for me. When I place 2 targets vertically and hold on the bottom target, I get nice groups on the top target 12 inches up. How far should I move the peep sight? Thx Bob Riess, San Diego, where you can shoot all day for 2 bucks.
What sight do you have installed? Some of them you can flip the mounting bracket over and will angle up instead of down.
What an idea! IDK the brand, probably Bear since it came with the bow, but the entire ring is adjustable, and it is set with the limbs tending downward. I thought I had a pretty complete set of hex wrenches, SAE and metric, but these screws are different. Anyway, there is a calibrated slide that is moveable without lossening any screws. I'll raise the whole ring, lower the pins back to the starting position, and make further pin adjustments at the range. Thx.
