is there a way to shoot a RH bow setup while being left eye dominate? the only way i can think of is if the sght was somehow extended to the left a few inches so i can use my left eye , but im thinking that would make the sight and arrow not lined up and it not shoot accurately. or should i just keep doing what im doing ( shooting as a lefty) even tho its alittle weird cuz im right handed ?

If you are left eye dominate you should be shooting left handed. Stay with it and it'll become more natural to you over time. You can shoot right handed but in order to do it you have to close your left eye. That causes depth perception problems and hinders your accuracy. It's possible, a lot of people do it, but it's not ideal.

Oh man I think this would suck. I really don't think I could shoot lefty. I sincerely hope you do great with it!

I'm a 100% lefty by nature, but a shoulder injury in HS football ended my hopes of being able to shoot a bow left-handed without pain over 20yrs ago. I picked up a RH bow, and learned how to shoot RH. I DO have to close my left eye, but I've in some ways developed a "dual" eye dominance where I can put a pistol in one hand or the other and the same side eye will take over dominance for aiming. It CAN be done, but it takes a little working on it to get there.

Actually, this is more common than you would think. Members of specialized military and security units train like this, in the event their dominant eye, hand, etc, etc, was compromised during an engagement.

I will tell you, from experience, that it takes a VERY long time to master. You have to remember, this is being done from the start; drawing the weapon, acquiring sight picture, sending a round down range, reloading, forcing a jam, clearing a stove pipe, etc, etc. It never really becomes "second nature", but, you will eventually become semi-proficient using your non-dominant hand/eye.

Only problem I think you may have is in a hunting situation. Low light and your trying to see your target a little more clearly. You accidentally leave your left eye open and miss it completely or even worse, wound it.

just close your left eye, you may have trouble tracking the flight of your arrow but you'll still be able to shoot accurate.
