I have a five pin tru glow and have them set at 20 25 30 35 40. I can also shoot 50 yards accurately just by putting the 40 yard pin on the back of the target.

It depends on how your shoot and your bow. On my CRX I have it set at 25, 35, 45 and 60 because its a little faster. My Factor is set at 15, 25, 35 and 45 because its my hunting bow and i'm slinging heavier arrows a little slower. That and most of my sets are for 20 yards and in.

Why? I was told to. :o
Those yardages give me some variability for sets. I hunt woods and edge of fields. The farthest I've killed a deer was 47yds that was in a field. Shooting at 50 and 60 help give one confidence for a 40 yard shot.

That set-up has served me well.
Really though, it's whatever you feel comfortable setting yours at. You may like 10, 15, 20, 30, 40. Heck... I may even like that better... who knows?

20,30,40,50,60,70... No need for a pin under 20yds or anything less than 10yd increments

    Similar for me

    I set mine at 22, 28, 33, 38, 43.

I did the 10 yard thing for years and there is just too much gap, even at 300 fps.

I like a single pin setup unless you hunt field edges or out west,I have not shot over 20 yards in 25+ years no need to confuse yourself with extra pins. Just my 2 cents

I only use 3 pins, I don't like all the clutter in my sight. They are set at 20, 35 & 50.

my bow has 4 pins but the way they are made I cant get them close enough together after the second pin so I use them kinda like a rangefinder. I have a 30 and 40 yard pin and the other two I use for ranging at those distances.

If you can, extend it out. That will widen the pin gap.

To me this is the best answer... I try not to shoot more than 30. My set is under 30 yards. I'm just not there yet as an archer and wounding one fatally with a poor shot is a recent haunt for me. Though he still walks the woods, it tormented me knowing I made a shot out of my comfort zone and wounded him.

I use a single pin sight and have marks starting at 20yards then every 5 yards out to 50 yards then every 10yards out to 100 but I just switched to a 3 pin CBE that I set at 22, 30 and 38 with the floating pin gauged out to 75yards

I don't shoot 3d or in tournaments, and 40 is the farthest I would shoot at a deer. my sight is extended as far as it will go. its not an expensive just what came on the bow. the way they put the fiber optics on it it jams between the 2nd and third pin when I try to move it up. at the distance I have to set the last two pins I would have set 30,40,60,75 so I just decided to use the last two as rangefinder pins.

I shoot a 4 pin sight, 20,30,40,50. I really need to do 25,35,45,55. I don't have hardly any pin gap between 20 & 30 yards. My pins are more less touching.
