Gents, I just purchased an axcel vision hd 4 pin. Had an accutouch, just never loved the single pin for hunting. The housing size on the vision is 2 inches, a fair bit larger than the 41mm housing on the slider. My question involves peep sizing: I used to be able to align my sight within the peep. I can't anymore. Should I get a larger peep for the larger housing? ( Not sure of my peep size now). Since I only hunt, losing a little but of accuracy for better low light performance is acceptable...I think...but I'm no archery guru and would appreciate some opinions. Also important to know, I am cross dominant so my non dominant eye is behind the peep, it seems like a larger peep would also help me see the target. Thanks!
I'm not an archer guru but I always size my peep to fit my sight inside of it. Any larger than that will make it less instinctive to center your sight inside your peep. I tried larger peeps to try and gain some extra shooting light but it never really made a difference so went back to what worked.
Larger peep. The key is tight concentric alignment, regardless of which is inside the other. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had to switch my peep to a larger size when I switched to an IQ bowsite, glad I did, much more accurate to align the sight through the peep
I found the same thing when I went to the IQ 5 pin Ultra Lite sight. I had a 3/16" peep, much too small FOV, and went to a 1/4" peep night and day difference, much better. My second bow has a React 5 pin sight and I put a 1/4' peep without the rubber tube on it, love it.
