I recently got my bow properly sighted in and I've gotten to the point where I can shoot decent groupings. Yesterday, I took my bow out to shoot at my usual range (33 yards) and watched my first arrow miss my target by a couple feet. I took another shot and had the same result. It looks like my peep and string have twisted to the right a bit. The sight picture isn't the same as it used to be. I can see a bit of the right inside wall of the peep when at full draw, if that makes sense. This issue just came out of nowhere. I took a shot under 10 feet away from the target and the arrow was about 8 inches to the right of the bulls eye. Can I fix this issue without having a pro shop put my bow in a vice and remove a twist in the string?
I'm no expert, but it sounds like your loop isn't real tight. I try to make sure my loop and peep are lined up and then when I draw back my peep is lined up. I wouldn't think that would cause you to miss by that much though. If that doesn't help, I would take it to a pro shop.
A twisted peep isn't going to cause you to miss by that much. I would look at your rest and your sight. Sounds like one of them got moved from being in the case. You can help to straighten the peep by turning your dloop also. Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
Something moved unless... you didn't by chance sight it in with field tips and are now shooting broadheads or vice versa?
The loop seems tight to me, but I'm pretty new to compound bows. I don't have a case yet, I just leave the bow in my closet. I checked the rest and sight. Both seem like they are more than tight enough to prevent any movement. I tried turning to D loop and it seems that it's more aligned with the peep now. I'll shoot it tomorrow to test it. Nope, I'm only using field points. Thanks for the help everyone, I really appreciate it.
There is no way a peep being turned will cause a miss! You are still looking thru the centered string. You have a rest or a sight issue.
You guys were right about the rest. I realized that it moved as far to the right as it could. After a little adjustment I've got my bow shooting alright out to 20 yards. Thanks for the help.
