I've had my Defender for just over a year and like it. Bought it used from a guy . Hopefully this year I'll get a deer to put in it.
I have taken our Polaris XP1000 Ranger through some nasty stuff in Wyoming and Montana. It has just over 6,000 miles on it and I wouldn't hesitate to take it anywhere. On a side note, relatively speaking, it is pretty fuel efficient.
I am also looking at the Polaris XP1000 this year waiting for them to go on sale. it seems to be the best bang for the buck down here.
My Yamaha Viking has been reliable. I only use it to hunt and work around the property but no complaints about it
Canam Defender, Me and my buddy both bought 1 in 2016, I have 8000 miles on mine and just had a roller go outlast year and have done a couple belts through that time. My buddy's has 19000 miles and just had a roller go out on his like a week after mine, and a few belts. Thats all we have had go wrong with them. They have been good to us.
Had a can am commander 800. I like liked it. Yeah the bed was a little small, but the short wheel base was pretty sweet in tight spots. I was mainly hauling chainsaws and tree stands. It wasn’t very good pulling my seed spreader bc it wouldn’t go slow enough. It’s a good cross between utility and fun. If you’re primarily using it for utility, I’d say go with a defender or Honda. Four seaters have a long wheel base, so depending on your terrain, you may be doing Austin Powers turn arounds all the time.
My neighbor has a Kubota diesel buggy with a decent sized dump bed, and it seems to run quieter than my other neighbor's Polaris.
