    What do you folks think?

I'm thinking she's probably just an old doe that is malnourished because she has a young fawn and it's been hot and dry here. IMG_3387.jpg IMG_3388.jpg IMG_3389.jpg

Is that a wound or lump on her neck?

Probably just stressed from nurturing two fawns in a dry year.

I thought the same but no spots on that other small deer and it has long marks along its fur on it's ribs. Nursing ,with high insect , low food quality in drought conditions. Then add predator harassment.

I know that doe on the left isn't a fawn. I'm pretty sure she's a yearling. She's easily identifiable by the scars on her left side and I've got pics of her going back to May.

She doesn't look much bigger than he fawn in the pic but that just might be the camera angle.

Even though the old doe is closer to the camera she appears to be a big old girl.
