I shot an 8 pt buck earlier in the year with them and they worked great, the new blacks ops version is sharper I guess. Buck travel 30 yards as I double lunged him and dropped. The head looked great after shot. They are accurate and tough. Good luck Scoot
I did a pretty big work up thread on them and some others this year; but all in all the Shuttle Ts did not impress. - they were not very sharp...even the Black Ops - the "Black Ops" paint wore off after just a few shots into a Block target - they arrived in the mail loose in their packaging and had been banging around in their clam shell for who knows how long - one blade edge had a very small crack which I'm sure it left the factory with - I could not get them to tune w/ field tips and other broadheads of the same grain weight. It wasn't my bow- 4 other brands of fixed blade heads were all hitting to point of aim at over 50 yards. The Shuttle Ts were not. The Shuttles did group very well together, however, they were all high and right. I used 3 different brand of arrows while conducting this test - it was consistent across the board I'm not a Trophy Taker hater; I have and use a TT rest and think their "tight fit" field tips are the best there are. I also think the Ulmer's Edge mechanicals are a very nice well designed mech head. I wanted to like the Shuttle Ts, because I like unique things that work well. The Shuttle Ts just did not impress me.
I used to use these all the time before Trophy Takers bought them out 4-5 years ago. Sharpnesss took a big dive after that. I don't think there is another broadhead out there that compares to the Shuttle T's .041" blade thickness. That combined with the fact that they're short like my field tips, made me a fan from the beginning. But once they started getting produced with a less than sharp edge, I switched.
I've killed a deer with them. Pass through. No problem. They are the best flying fixed broadheads I've tried. I've tried G5 Montecs and Muzzy Trocar also. They flew well out to 80 yards for me. I'm a big fan of them. Lot of guys out west use them for big game.
