I suppose it could be a poll but nah, are there any hunters here that do not take a scent free soap shower before they hunt?
I try to but if I can't I just won't hunt UNLESS the wind is really in my favor. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
If I can't shower, I keep the scent free wipes in my truck and wipe down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I always shower scent free before hunts, I haven't found "hunting brand" deodorant that worked good for me maybe I'm extra stinky. I use arm and hammer un scented antiperspirant, works great!
I shower the night before a morning hunt. I really depend on the wind to help me out as far as scent goes. No matter when I shower I know I will produce plenty of new body odor during the long walks to my stands.
I stop using scented soap and shampoo weeks before the season comes in. Same with laundry detergent (even with work & street clothes). I use unscented Arm & Hammer antiperspirant all year long and about the only scented product that gets in/on me is toothpaste... until they make one that's also scent free! Every time....however for those of us with girly hair on our head, alot of hunting type shampoo/deodorants sold really suck! Paid some ridiculous shipping price to try the "just for does" & "just for bucks" product line a few years ago. The deodorant works great along with the shampoo and other things on the scent free product line! They usually have a booth at the Madison WI Deer and Turkey Expo so i try to plan my purchases in advance to avoid the shipping price tag Sent from my SM-G935R4 using Tapatalk
I never shower before a hunt. 90% of the time I don't have time after work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I did when I was whitetail hunting. I had given up on the scent free soap and such. I actually had more deer in range when I used scented soaps and conditioner than I did with scent less stuff and I didn't feel like a dried out husk. I don't worry about taking a shower right before a hunt out here. I need to ride on an atv, SxS or truck up dusty trails for many miles and then hike quite a bit after that. Our archery season opens in august so it's warm. I'm a sweaty dirt ball with exhaust fume undertones by time I get to my spot. The shower after the hunt is much more important than the one beforehand. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Every time for me. Heck, I take a shower and put on fresh Sport Washed clothes just to change a game camera card. Did that today. My buddies think I'm crazy. But they are lucky to see a buck each fall...I pass 14-20 different bucks every fall. So who's the crazy one?
Shower for me before every hunt, including scent free toothpaste and deodorant. under layer then comes out of the scent crusher closet, hunting clothes go into a tote from the scent crusher closet, drive to hunting place with scent crusher portable on in the truck, get dressed in field, undress when done, drive home, wash under layers, all go back into scent crusher closet. I try my best to avoid all the scent that I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I shower the night before or first thing in the morning depending on the weather. The only time I don't shower is when I'm at deer camp, no running water or electricity on the property, but I do have my field wipes from DDW and I will use those during the 4 days I'm at camp.
I do but I feel it's almost pointless to use scent free soap and then dry off with a used towel...or a fresh towel since my wife keeps the towels in a closet that also has candles in it. It might be a bit over board but I now hang an unused scent free towel. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have a separate towel that is washed in scent free soap and stays in the scent crusher closet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
