Yeah, so it goes like this. My buddy Brian and I hunted hard at The Farm for 7 days. I had to leave on Friday because my dad had some surgery and my anniversary was saturday. Brian called me at 9 saturday morning, he shot this buck out of my stand that morning.
Unfortunatly my friends are all slobs (much like myself) and spend most of their time talking about killing big bucks, rather than actually doing it. :D
This is my buddy Mike. He shot this buck 24 hours after I killed mine. He had not shot a deer with his bow in three years even though he is a good hunter. This is one of the bucks we were trying to kill on our main hunting grounds.
my buddy "Bird" (Pat) he's a member but hasnt posted much...Works with me at the Bears he also shot a doe earlier this yr. hats off to this guy who works with our equipment and athletic training staff and has prob less time than me to hunt. he does it the old fashion way knocking on doors, getting land and sneeking into the stand even if it means hunting with only a hr or so of daylight left.
A co worker took this one this season. It grossed 157 and change. It was aged at 6.5 two things that give up this buck as being older. The whole thing is Grey and check out the tiny back hips. He also sports a double throat patch. Taken in Illinois
Well, I've got nothing to show as impressive as some of the bucks other guys have posted, but my friends have had a pretty good year. Brandon, those are some really impressive bucks. Crik, did you do that photo-in-photo effect? What software did you use? That is really cool. Here are some pics of my buddies and their deer: Steve and his boys with a Schuylkill County buck: My buddy Karl and a broken G2 10 shot near Valley Forge: My buddy Mike and his NJ buck: My buddy Paul and his Chester County, PA buck. 26" main beams:
Seriously! Christine, can you start calling me your bowfishing buddy? My goodness were they beautiful!
Crik, did you do that photo-in-photo effect? What software did you use? That is really cool. Bry, I didnt do the photo. Tom is good friends with a guy thats a Mossy Oak pro staffer. His friend done it for him, not sure what software. I work with a guy that can do that and I think Im going to have him do my mount pics when I get it back.
Reviving this thread to post some more deer. These were taken with gun by my bowfishing buddies. (we're handy with all sorts of weapons.... well, they are... I can't seem to kill a buck this year) Matt Clark's 191 7/8" buck. Alex Grable's muzzleloader buck.
All my friends not on bh.com have new kids, the others are much like myself and are eating buck tag soup so far this season.
I live vicariously through my bowfishing buddies. :D Luke Whitkanack's late season IL buck. (Taken a couple days ago)
This buck was taken on the opener of ML season (taken by bow) by a friend of mine. He's one of the MOST UN-assuming hunters I know......and the buck was taken in one of our counties abutting the VA state line. This was his second P&Y caliber buck of the season (he hunts 2,500 private acres, exclusively)............and there's not much doubt this is the new NC typical state record. Green score grosses this animal over 173".....and the net is over 169". Sidenote...... Funny story is....He calls me on Sunday (shot it on Sat. evening) asking me for my recommendation for a good taxidermist to do a EURO MOUNT for this buck. No kidding. That's just what he's doing. I've implored him to reconsider, but it's gonna take another cape, now. He cut the head off at the neck!
