I tore my right rotator cuff in July. The surgery requires six month recovery time so I put surgery off until after Thanksgiving so I could get some hunting in.Thankfully,I killed a decent buck in October.I still have one buck and two doe tags left.I usually hunt till the end of Feb. We'll,needless to say,my season is over.I'm already having withdrawals. It's going to kill me not to hunt. There is a cold front moving in this week and it will be a great time to hunt .I'll just have to deal with it and get my "fix" by hearing other peoples hunting stories. At least I was able to get a lot if hunting in and killed a nice buck.I've had a good season.I saw lots of deer and passed on a decent eight point, smaller bucks, and several does. Now,it will be a long recovery time.I won't be able to shoot my bow for six months and will miss most of the 3d shoots this year.I had the same surgery on my left shoulder three years ago so I know what to expect.Hope everyone has a great late season. Sorry to hear, keep your head up and think positive! Better to take care of it now and be 100% for next season also. My father just got his done a couple months back and he is already recovering faster and has so much more range in motion since PT started than doctor said he might. Wish you a great and quick recovery!
Hope you heal up quickly. since you already been through this once, you already know to take it easy. don't rush it!
I feel your pain Ray. I had this done on November 15th. Needless to say my season is also over. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just had my second repair of my labrum on the Friday before opener of WI gun season with 12 months for recovery. Better to miss out on one now and hopfully be ready for bow opener next year. Only problem is the doc says no more military for me as of right now but hoping he is wrong. Hope you heal up quick and we both are shooting again in no time.
At least you're getting it out of the way. Putting it off longer could have possibly made things worse and had a longer recovery time. And you had a good season.Just trying to think of some positives lol
Hope you get well... I am heading that way eventually... I just keep refusing to admit I am getting **d.
Thats rough man...hope it heals up quick for ya...no fun Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Actually, this is my second time around.I had the same surgery done on my left shoulder three years ago.It was six months before I could shoot my bow.I guess I'm just falling apart.I had a torn pectoral muscle five years ago that required surgery also.I'm 49 yo and still very active so as I breakdown,I'll get my parts replaced or repaired just like an old car.I like to shoot my bow year round so it's tough not to be able to shoot. It's not all bad.God has been very good to me and I have much to be thankful for. There are more important things than hunting and bow shooting. Thanks to all who replied.
