With all the media love NOLA is receiving this week, should the SB be hosted in NOLA or Miami every year? Should the NFL just give up allowing cities like Indy and Phoenix, or even NYC to host the SB?
Variety is good. They book the great hosting cities often but still branch out to other venues so it doesn't get mundane. The new stadiums get their time in the spotlight soon after being built. The NFL has it about right IMO.
I don't think so, I understand why they want weather limited for the Super Bowl, but truthfully I think it should be a true home field advantage and the number one seed hosts it. Give the team fans access to see it without spending a fortune. I also understand that knowing ahead of time where it will be helps them organize it, beings it is the biggest sporting event. Football fans can endure the cold and nasty weather in late Jan. early Feb., it's the rich sissies who don't want to have to deal with bitter cold or rain or god forbid snow!
Why would anyone want that? Weather delays, transportation delays, cold, miserable, not one person on this planet would enjoy that.
give me a reason why it should not these cites have proved time and time again that they are the best for hosting such an event
Why does Walt only have a mustache in your avatar? Shouldn’t it be a full goatee? Don't ask me why I just noticed this now.
Why would their be weather and translortation delays, do you think the players and fans are going to fly in the day of the game? Cold and miserable? Not everyone is as soft as southerners. I guess every regular season game for every team should be held in one of those controlled environment cities.
The average job blow guy that likes to sit out in the cold weather and drink Busch Light does not go to the Super Bowl for the most part. The clientele is much different for the SB than it is for a regular season game.
not all, but I guarantee a lot of the fans fly in pretty close to the day of the game. Tickets are expensive enough, don't need to have more hotel costs. and I wasn't just talking about planes, but just transportation in general. Snow covered roads make for real easy transportation. it is not about being soft, it is about it being an enjoyable experience 75 degrees vs 5 degrees? which is more enjoyable? there is a reason why people vacation in the Caribbean in the winter and not Wisconsin a regular season game is in no way comparable to the SB
I laughed. Tell that to the Illinois people. I watch a lot of snowmoblies on trailers flying pasy me with FIB plates on. I wish they would go to the Caribbean.
Maybe the previous SB winning team gets to host next year's game... that would simplify the selection process and give a great incentive to repeating... of course teams like Cleveland and Detroit may never get a shot.
Or you could just rotate it between Miami and NOLA. Maybe throw in Atlanta and Dallas and/or Houston, but those cities are too spread out. What makes NOLA so great for these types of events is that everything is in a close proximity to each other. You can walk from downtown to FQ to Dome easily. That is why NYC is such a horrible idea. Too spread out, and the potential to be a weather nightmare.
NY just put up their billion dollar Met Life stadium . They want their cut of the economic boost the super bowl delivers.
