Should the Redskins Change Their Name?

All they need to do is put a potato on the side of the helmet and they can keep the name and only vegetarians will be pissed off!!

 

I am wondering since DC is so screwed up can we just give it back to the Indians?

I come from an "Original" American" ancestry and I am more offended that someone would want to remove the name... to make a name for himself. That p****s me off. Some politically inspired moronic legislator is just presuming too much and is trying to incite riotous debates within ethnic groups. Maybe that has worked well for other ethnicities, but leave us out of it.

 

Should we also consider changing the name of the Vikings? There might be someone of Nordic decent that is offended by that name as well. Perhaps we should consider changing the name of the Oakland Raiders because some descendant of a pirate might feel offended. How about the Cowboys, I mean cowboys and Indians.

 

Don't change the Vikings. I am 100% pedigreed Norsk and proud of the Viking heritage and approve of the name (even though they haven't shown a lot to be proud of lately). Of course that may not matter if some PC butthead gets a burr in their britches and starts whining about it.

Are animal rights activist going to ban team names too?

This is a situation where history and tradition trumps "holier then though do-gooding fairness freaks" who are just trying to stir the pot.
