well I wanna get out tomorrow morning...so bad..but the winds are ridiculous right now.... Im nervous about getting in a stand to be honest..haha it says 23 mph winds in the morning...so i think i will give it a try.... What you guys doing..going out? or staying in....hopefully you dont read this until after your morning hunt, and you have shot a brusier..
Man, first you are hunting the same spot. Now you are thinking like me. Sheesh. I had exactly the same dilemma tonight. I decide to give it a break go out with a friend that I will be gun hunting with in 3 weeks, have some beers, tell some lies, rehash old stories and plan GFY camp 2009. I am looking forward to sleeping in this morning because I am dead tired from working and hunting this week. I can't hunt tomorrow night because of taking my son trick or treating. I will be hitting it from sunrise to sunset Sunday because the weather looks great.
Good luck....... I just don't have the motivation to out in that crap again. I have done it 1 too many times over the last week. What is it with this weather??
welll im up....its 6:45....woke up earlier around 5:30..but cant sleep now, because i decided not to go out this morning..now im upset, because i made this decision and i cant sleep.....sitting thinkin about going in....not caring if the sun is coming up in 1 hour anyway...just grabbing the stuff and going in...but i dont want to bump anything now... so im going to wait....till tomorrow morning....same spot, hopefully making the right move..? If not good luck to all you guys that went out this morning....get that halloween buck...
With high winds and rain the deer are likely to stay bedded.Especially the winds...Not going until the evening
your right..the only problem is .....i have to take the girl out for halloween...so i dont get today now..haha...unless i go out and sit right now....tilll about 4....that will be teasing myself, have to leave during the best part of the day....so i guess tomorrow morning will have to work.. Good luck this morning guys....bring home some stories....
I don't usually hunt winds over 15mph, one because deer activity greatly drops unless you are in thick stuff and two because shooting a bow in high winds is a loosing proposition. How many people in here have gone out and practiced on windy days, I for one can't stand how the wind keeps my bow moving on me.
I am sitting here typing instead of sitting in a tree. I am hoping the rain moves thru quick enough to get out this evening.
i dont no Rybo..im west of you ....and it says on our weather channel that its gonna be high winds till late tonight...then over night..its suppose to be perfect conditions for sunday morning.... But who knows...hopefully it does
Hhmmmm to be honest I didn't even look at the wind, I was just trying to time the rain clearing out. Maybe I'll jsut hunt turkey in PA this evening. This tip toe-ing around the weather is more difficult when its a 90 min drive to your hunting spot.
I bet It Is, makes It tough. I didn't go out this morning either, fricking winds whipping again and I only had one stand that was good for this wind. The problem Is I hunted this same stand twice already the last week so I figure I better stay out of there. I'm hoping for a NE or NW wind this evening, plan on sitting where I wounded my big boy 12 days ago. I haven't been there since.
So would you guys hunt a overnight 15 deg temperature drop, cloudy, and little or no rain but high winds at 20 mph?
If that's your forecast for tomorrow morning I'd would NOT miss it. I am REALLY looking forward to tomorrow after this front moves off, even if still a little windy, the deer will be up and about.
