I am shooting a bow that is new to me and if I raise the site as far as it will go it still shoots high at 20, 30 yards. Apparently my peep site is too high and that if I lower it I can get the 5 pin site back down into the range where it can be effectively adjusted. My concern is that I am not experienced with this system and may do the wrong thing. The bow seems to shoot fine otherwise but the site just cannot reach the arrows because it is out of space to be adjusted any further. Am I missing something or do I need to move the peep? I hate to move it if I do not neet to do so.
get ur form down first. when u draw back, close ur eyes and get relaxed wit the bow. then open ur eyes and the peep should be inline with ur eye. then go to the sight. i had the same problem, after i got form down, the peep sight is there for a reference. im sure after my 2 cents, many people will jump in and help you. hope i helpd a tad.
make sure your top pin is maxed out all the way on top, then move the hole sight up or down till you get it at 20 yards (if you havent already done so). if your still not there you night have to move the peep up
If the bow is new to you, I would almost promise you that you will need to move the peep. You should draw back with your eyes closed, find a comfortable anchor and then open your eyes, if the peep is to low/high move it to where you need it. After doing this, I'd be surprised if you ran out of adjustment on your sights. Also, is the bow adjusted to your specific draw length?
I went to the bow shop and asked them. They said my 30" draw was contributing to the problem. They moved my site bracket out to the next hole and it seems to have solved the problem - at least at 20 yards. I need to shoot it at 30 and 40 to see how it works now. So I may be able to avoid moving the peep. But I am going to try some of the suggestions her - especially the one on keeping my eye closed and seeing where the peep is thanks guys
