My good friend told me to aim 3 to 4" low on a deer cuase when they hear the string pop they drop a little.... Is this true? Thanks in advance
If a deer spooks at the sound of u'r bow, the''duck''is actually just the deer doing what comes naturally. He preparing to turn and run.Bending at the knees to get momentum. The ferther the shot the more it would seem to ''duck''.My 2 cents....
Aim here: If he drops, you're still good. Never expect that they will move, because they don't always "drop".
Thanks guys all the replies make sense .I hope I can do my job and put the deer down right .don't want him or her to suffer ,well I mean really I don't want a long track
Here is a tip for you also, don't aim for where you want the arrow to impact, but rather where you want the arrow to exit. Too many people aim for the entry point and this can lead to single lung or missed shots. By aiming for the point of exit, you are drawing the imaginary line thru the vitals.
Here is another tip, do not aim for where you want the arrow to enter the animal, but rather where you want it to exit the animal. Too many hunters aim for the impact point and this can lead to single lung hits, and even misses in the field. Draw an imaginary line thru the vitals.
Yeah, tracing a line through the deer is a good idea. Not all deer drop, so if you aim too low, you may just injure a deer. The angle at which you're shooting will also have some play in the decision making process of where to shoot.
Thanks for all the great advice .if I can just even get my chance you guys got me aiming right just hope I don't freak out, hehe I got 10~20&30 yd pins dialed in real good .I'm gonna poop if I pop one
High shoulder / spine is pretty good too. Shot seven or eight so far doing that, and they pile up where they stand. Fitz, you got a pic of that one?
