You are most welcome. You posted a lot of false or strawman junk that need to be dispelled. I'm just glad I could clear it up for you.

I have made a crossbow. Crossbows have been around THOUSANDS of years before compounds. I have taken deer with a recurve, compound and crossbow. Need to get a longbow and take one.
Looks like most do not want able bodied people to use crossbows so that their are less hunters on public lands and not killing Their deer. Also to keep them lazy out-of-staters from killing everything. Heck if they can not put in the money and effort to learn to use a "human powered bow " then they should just stay on the couch and play xbox.
Maybe we should start a movement to outlaw compounds, releases, sights, range finders, lighted knocks, metal and carbon shafts and everything that's makes it easy. While we are at it we can only wear buck skins and hunt from the ground. Also we should outlaw motors on boats and only fish with cane poles. We are sure getting lazy.

I don't see your point, guns have been since the mid 1300s, they also have been around longer then compounds. "So why don't we just allow guns in the archery season?" Oh wait the guns we have today are much more effective then the ones from hundreds of years ago. "Well maybe you should be able to hunt longer with a primitive gun" We have an answer for that, its called the muzzleloader and or flintlock season which in a lot of states runs parallel to the archery season.

Edit: "Looks like most do not want able bodied people to use crossbows so that their are less hunters on public lands and not killing Their deer. Also to keep them lazy out-of-staters from killing everything." You are correct, I dont believe crossbows should be used in the archery season(with the exceptions I have stated earlier) Give crossbows their own season, just like muzzleloaders. you wont see a thread on here asking if flintlocks should be allowed during the archery season, why? because they are a totally different weapon.

Edit: I don't feel like delving into this topic any longer as its going nowhere fast and crossbows are allowed in some way shape or form in every state except washington state I think, so what's the point? This thread won't be changing state legislature, I have presented my opinion and defended it, that's about as far down the rabbit hole as I am going

Edit: plus Innovative Outdoorsman already dismantled your argument so no reason to kick a man while he is down

That does not sound accurate at all. In fact none of what I have read here would lead anybody to arrive at such a conclusion. I'm not sure what mental gymnastics you had to go through to get that out of any of what was written here. Make sure to stretch first.

The manufactured drama is cool and all but again you invented that out of whole cloth.

Not everyone uses the accessories you mention. I know of compound bowhunters that do not use sights, releases, range finders, lighted nocks, etc. Those are optional accessories one can or may not employ. Why go far afield to grasp for optional accessory argument when the discussion is about human powered bows vs stored energy, shoulder discharged weapons.

Fishing?? It would appear you have used every arrow in your quiver of ideas and are desperately grasping to make a point of relevance.

Yes a crossbower. Not to be confused in any way with a "Bowhunter"

Bowhunting is not for everyone. Many folks quit bowhunting and take up crossbowing. Still others will at times bowhunt and then crossbow hunt on other days. Then they may ML hunt or use a shotgun or rifle to hunt. The ML, firearms and crossbow hunters would all be something other than a bowhunter. They are stored energy, shoulder discharged weapons users. All are good and fun and will put meat on the table.

    Only one is a bowhunter.

Justin, since you guys already own the domain...

Crossbowhunting.com. "A virtual campfire for corn pile watching, buck bomb sniffing bowhunting posers."

Todd would be like $$$ with all the sponsor dollars from the Corn Growers Association, Buck Bomb and Mission Crossbows.

    Kidding... Kinda.

You may very well enjoy crossbowing or crossbow hunting or whatever that group calls what they do. If you find you are up to the challenge of human powered bowhunting, you may find that to be enjoyable as well.

The removing of all doubt was not a compliment. You are your fathers son and appear to have been home schooled.

Not sure why you struggle so to stay on topic and why you have to make things personal but since you have.

Thank you again. Now I feel bad. I didn't get you anything after you went out of your way to extend me such compliments.

You probably smell nice and are nice to animals and stuff and are a good driver.

It's a human powered bowhunting weapon. Just when you thought human powered was safe. Lol.
I probably couldn't hit my house with one, but it is legal in some places.

exactly my point, minus the dbaggery part. The question now is, how are they affecting the sport and is this affect positive or negative. Personally I see alot of good from crossbows, I just happened to have focused on the bad in this thread
