    Should it and why?

Ftr, I believe the NCAA rule is beer cannot be served in stadiums that are "on-campus". Which of course covers most college football stadiums.

You should be shot for asking that question.

Pretty legit question, not sure what your problem is Dogfish.

Personally I think the current rule is fine. When I take my kids to a game, I like that the odds of being around someone drunk is decreased.

Id make the case that not serving beer might actually cause more heavily intoxicated fans.

Knowing you can't beer inside sure causes alot of heavy binge drinking beforehand. Hardy anyone is willing to get drunk at $7 a beer. And the people that are would get drunk before anyway.

My experience has been that I've been around more drunks at pro games than college games. At UT if you how signs of being drunk they won't let you in the gate. Security is pretty tight at Neyland.

Interesting. If Wisconsin had that policy the stadium would only be half full (slightly exaggerated).

I'm not sure where the line is for not allowing someone in, but I've seen them turn fans away. The ones that I've seen we're pretty drunk (couldn't walk straight and slurred speech).

Another point. It is similar to the gun control law. Why punish the masses over a few bad apples?

Just don't serve beer to someone that seems drunk. Collet the revenue. Allow the good guys to have a cold one while enjoying a football game.

I wouldn't have a problem if they did serve it. I wouldn't be against it.

I don't have a strong opinion either. But I definitely lean towards allowing it.

I do understand and appreciate the reason for the rule as I don't like obnoxious drunks any more than the next guy.

Man goes to game. Man wants a beer. Man drinks beer. Who the heck allowed some non real lawmaking group like the NCAA dictate so much? I think we live in a weird society because we concede so many things to people and groups. What is so special about college kids that people arent allowed to drink beer at the games? Nothing.

No. There would be some argue that it is ok at a t-ball game. Professional sports are centered around money, college sports are centered around school. If you can't handle a game without a beer, stay home and watch it in the basement.

Are you serious...if you don't think college sports is centered around $$$ you are fooling yourself!

When I went to college or have visited friends I always observed the opposite, college in general is about alcohol, sports, and the opposite sex.

    Yes they should serve beer.

I guess I'm with Phillip on this one. I don't really care one way or the other, but I'd probably be less likely to go to a college game the first few years they allowed it. College kids are dumb. At least I was.

The only times I was not drinking was when I was at class & at a game, but there was plenty of time on either side for that :busted:

High school groups who control sports are just as bad.

I think they should serve it.
