I know I am not a Bow guru like many of you guys and I still shoot an 04 Liberty ... but here is my run down on the Mathews Z7 ...

    1. Speed was good, plenty fast.
    2. Draw Cycle sucked imo compared to my Liberty, two different hitches in it..
    3. Pretty quiet but nothing special, louder than my Liberty
    4. I actually liked the grip.
    5. Nice little bow but for 850.00 ... NO THANKS I will keep ole "Bertha" (my Liberty 80)

only the Destroyer has a chance now of getting me to dig into my pockets.. My pro shop still hasnt gotten one in yet.. WHAT THE HECK is bowtech thinking.. they are pissing around to long with getting these bows out... I guess Savage isnt up to speed out west like the old original Oregon Bowtech owners..

Aw, heck Troy... how much hunting you got left to do this year with the bow anyway? :D It'll be worth waiting a few more weeks for and then you'll still have plenty of time to get used to it before next year. ;)

I was going to restring my Black Ice but I may wait. I've never owned an all out Bowtech (even tho my Diamond is made by them) but I may just come off the hip for the Destroyer. I just hope it lives up to all the hype.

Oh yea, this is about the Z7......my bad.

Nah...i doubt it. I think Mathews has made a good enough name for itself without having to do that. Their biggest downfall is that half of the people can't afford to buy one. I guess thats why the "Mission" brand was started....kind of like "Diamond".

I was at a local pro shop earlier today and shot the Z7 for the first time. It wasn't completely bad but I'd pick the switchback or the outback any day over it. I'm not a Mathews hater at all. In fact, I've always been a fan of their products. The tech, who has been doing this for over 25 years and is an avid Mathews guy, said to him it seemed that they were just trying to keep up with Hoyt and Bowtech with new products and just threw this one together. This is coming from a guy that's been shooting Matthews for about 7 years now and thinks they're better than sliced bread. Personally, I wouldn't trade my Diamond for it straight up.

i own the Diamond Ice Man and theres no comparison. The Z7 is way better of a bow. I guess its a matter of personal preference.

Troy, You shoot the Destroyer it will be hard to put down. I am itching to get mine, like a lot of people.

I shot one a few weeks ago at a shop about an hour from me. Then yesterday The shop here in town got their Destroyer. I spent most of the day shooting it, and out to 60 yards. I still want one :-) Impressive Bow in many ways!

I have shot the Maxxis, Alphamax, Z7, and the Monster. I would be very surprised if the Destroyer was not Bow of the Year for 2010. I think you consider all the properties I personally look for in a Bow, the Destroyer is the Best bow I ever Shot.

I also liked the Alphamax, more impressed by it than the Maxxis. The Z7 was also a quality bow and what I would expect from Mathews.

Your Liberty is a Nice bow no doubt. I also like my Captain extremely well. It will definitely stay in my arsenal.

X2 on what Dan said don't buy till you try. I shot all the new bows and liked the D340 best and it came home with me.
