I try to keep in mind that a lot of the newer shows are regular hunters like the rest of us. Most don't claim to be pro sharp shooters and are prone to missing or being a little off on a shot just like the rest of us. The difference is, they also ha e to make sure the light is right, the animal is in frame, second camera still on them and so on before they take the shot.

I don't watch alot of tv or hunting shows, but one I watched a couple weeks ago pertains to this thread.

The guy on the show shot a nice buck straight in the stomach. It was a complete gut shot. This is fine, I too understand bad shots happen.

Then they get on tv and review the shot saying to everyone it looks like a good shot, but were gonna give him some time. What???

Any person with minimal shot placement knowledge could see it was a gut shot. The deer was complete broadside. The hunt was in the evening too before dark; fast foward to daylight and they are recovering the deer. They don't actually show the recovery, they just show the hunter by the deer. They go on to say that just like they thought, it was an excellent shot. The deer only went 60 yards.

This is complete b.s. and its the reason I don't watch any hunting shows with regularity. Of course they never showed the P.O.I. on the deer either. I don't know who they think they are fooling??? Most people who watch these shows enjoy hunting, which means they know what the hell they are talking about. They have knowledge and can relate to what the hunters on tv are doing.

Just wise up and be genuine. Tell the truth and don't cover things up. This is also the reason why I love every episode of Bowhunt or Die. No bs, just down to earth hunting.

Think of this every time I watch hunting on tv. Just watched a show last night where a guy shot a jogging Buck. The shot was back but he still managed to recover it. I hate how they'll go to the extremes just to get a hit on a deer, wether it be good or not, just because it's a big buck.
