Shot Nice 8pt this Morning Couldn't Find What you think???

    I know the buck I shot this past year was a lung shot deer and he ran about 800 yards. It was during the rut and I called him in so the adrenaline was pumping good for him but they can run a long ways with 1 or both lungs out. The arrow suggest he is laying there dead.

    defintly a dead deer, go back and do circles and keep doing them until you find some blood then go from there.

    It could be lung on the arrow. My buck i shot this year was a one lung hit i waited 2 hrs to start looking still jumped him waited till the next morning found him about 250you yards from where i shot him. They are tough sob. Go back in the morning and search.

    I had forgot to come back and update the forum post... I went back the following morning and didn't find anything... The following week I had to work out of town, so I didn't have a chance to hit the woods again. The following weekend, I got another buddy to come help me look. We hunted that morning, and started to look again around 10 am. For 10:30 my buddy had stumbled on him. He was smaller than I thought, but was my personal best with a bow. Upset that I didn't find him when the meat was still good, but at least I found him. Assume a pack of yotes got an easy meal over the next couple days. Thanks for the advice everyone, otherwise I would have given up on him.
