keep on keepin on! It's ok to make mistakes as long as you LEARN FROM THEM. Keep your chin up and make sure the next shots a good one! Good luck!
theres two things you can do and that is to like everyeone else has said learn from your mistakes. But the big thing is is NOT TO LET IT GET YOU DOWN. I wanted to give up when i was younger after wounding a deer, felt horrible about it but it happens to the best. Went out that evening and shot my very first whitetail ever and now im infatuated with the sport. Dont let it scare you from taking your shots, or second guessing yourself. After all its supposed to be fun!
Same thing happened to me on my first. I found he r in the morning but her butt had been nibbled on. I still ate the good meat. I too felt terrible all night long. I think it means you are passionate about hunting ethics. It is a good thing if you learn from it.
Two years ago i shot at a monster. Waited 30 mins to get down to find my arrow got to where my arrow was and jumped him. Thougth it cant be that big a deal there was blood everywhere i could have run and fallowed the blood trail. got back on the trail the next morning fallowed it for 2.5miles and then i look at the gps giant circles he's got to be chaseing does! Me and my uncle go back to the house and his mom said you guys should of seen the deer in the front yard it was huge looked like someone shot it in the briscut. If i woud of let him lay maybe he would of went to sleep and bleed out I dont no. We saw him 3 more times that year. But i bet if im not sure of a shot agin ill be sitting there till morning if i have to. LIVE AND LEARN. Some times the hard way.
