Hey guys I tried posting one of these in the 'Target Archery' section and got a few views but no responses. I see someone posted on in this section a bit ago with some great help and tips so I thought I would give it a try as well. This is my 4th year hunting with a compound and I have gotten more accurate each year. Can never stop improving in my opinion so I am looking to soak up some more tips and guidance in improving my consistency and accuracy. Enclosed are a couple pics of me at full draw at the range.
I'm not an expert but two things that I notice are that your stance is kind of narrow. So I would widen that a bit and loosen up your grip on the bow. I basically just form a V shape with my thumb and index finger. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
There has never been a bad time to wear jorts.....won't improve your shooting though...... Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
I would agree with loosening your grip, open that hand up, if the bow tips either way it will show you how much the balance is off. Also you have to much weight on your front foot. Balance your weight evenly on both feet, to me it makes it easier to hold steady on target. Hard to see but it looks to me like your release it to long, in that I mean the trigger it to far towards your finger tip. IMO you want the trigger to be actuated at the middle knuckle of you finger.
Agreed with others in that you need to relax the front hand some. Also widen your stance and bring the forward facing foot slightly back. Your shoulders should be perpendicular to the target. John Dudley has a bunch of great Youtube videos on shooting form. Check those out. Levi Morgan is doing some too. Cant go wrong taking tips from those guys.
